It certainly doesn't sound good here in GW, but in CoH/CoV where we have missions rather than quests- it's a common term. I think people just carry it over.

Past purchases do not count... and the period purchases will count in is July 5th 2007 to October 31st 2007
If they did count I'd qualify at least twice on both of my accounts just with character slot purchases

Thanks for the info Gaile. One question; is it possible to view your current credit towards the BMP? Or view dates of purchases?
Thanks in advance.

I just placed an order for the £3.99 GWEN thing, is that just the pre-order pack or the whole add-on?
I have already bought all the campaigns and a PVP edition (other 2 campaigns unlocked myself with faction), and already have 15 character slots, so unless GWEN is going to cost £17 and not the £3.99 I just paid, I cant get these bonus missions. No I dont need anymore character slots tyvm.
So could I ask that Anet consider mine and others past purchases on the online store to contribute towards the bonus missions?

3.99 I believe is for the preorder. That'll get deducted from GW:EN's actual price. But you will have to pay more for the actual game.

The past purchases dose not count huh? ... i feel cheated anet. You force me to buy a product like GWEN with out a box and stuff for more then what i payed for factions or nightfall when they were released. If i get it from not in game store,it should be alot less expensive and i will get package and stuff in it as well.I do not see logic in this and it angers me.

WTS: Glasses.
If you read all of the posts, the BMP is 100% retroactive. Anything you've bought in the store, little or large, counts towards the $29 required to recieve the bonus pack. They're also working on adding PlayNC store purchases count towards the $29. If you've spent $29 in the store, you will get the BMP.

WTS: Clue.
If you read all of the posts, and pay attention to the details. It is not 100% retroactive, it is retroactive to the start of the promotion period.

Ah right. I take it back. That's kinda scroogey marketing if the pruchases have to be made with in a cetain time. I thought it was a loyalty reward and a slight incentive to buy online products rather than soley an incentive to pluck up cash. That means that if you want the mission pack you have to purchase something even if you don't want/need it.

This is a PROMOTION for GW:EN. Why can't everybody see that. A promotion only runs for a specific length of time hence the name. If you just buy GW:EN you will qualify for the BMP.
The discussion about the pricing and about no box is in another thread btw.

Guys,
First, yes, you can check your balance--and add up how close you are to the BMP--through the PlayNC interface. www.PlayNC.com. Go to Account / Account Management / Billing Summary. (I think that's right, please let me know if you need more help.)
Secondly, come on, folks, this is a promotion or a purchase incentive, not a "loyalty reward." We do have a lot of loyalty rewards, if you think about it: birthday miniatures, holiday items that are never repeated, special emotes for the CE's, etc. But this is not a loyalty reward, and asking us to give credit for this content because of a purchase made in 2005 is like asking your butcher to give you last month's sale price for ground beef.

I think what's bothering people is this... You can purchase GW:EN for $29.99 from some online retailers. Currently Fry's is offering the pre-order for this price. So if Fry's can offer the game at that price, why cant NCsoft? Especially since there is practically no overhead because there is no box, dvd disc, etc. and the profit is all NCsofts. All you're selling is an email with the game code in it.
I understand that NCsoft has to establish an MSRP for the game. But that's for a retail boxed version and merchants can charge whatever they want to. Surely you can understand that all we want is a fair price for what we are getting.
So while we're not looking for last month's sale price for ground beef, we don't like paying more for 1/2 a pound while others are paying less for a pound.

they could but dont forget FRIES has to charge state sales tax.................oops to make the price even with the online store they have to charge the same price LESS TAX
if online there is SHIPPING PLUS TAX.....double oops.
real life example why i am using the online store is i SAVE 10 DOLLARS AND POCKET CHANGE over my usual online/retail store.
if the online store was the same retail bargain price the retailer which is over 96 percent of their sales would lose money on every copy by meeting the price than giving free tax and shipping at the retailers expence. losing money on each copy sold

The majority of purchases in the continental US by US citizens online from businesses within the US are tax free. States can not levy taxes on interstate commerce, and unless you happen to live in a real hotspot for businesses, and even if you do, most of the time when you shop online, you're not going to have to pay any taxes.
For in-store vs shipped online, it's a bit of a toss-up. For a purchase of a $29.99 game, you'd pay $2.50 in taxes about, at my state's tax rate, and shipping would either be free, a common promotion for some online businesses, or $3.95 for standard shipping costs.
As a general rule, it's a better deal to get the game from a third party when possible, particularly at the point in time where stores begin to sell them cheaper, which is not going to happen in the online store, as with that Nightfall promotion, selling it for $20 a while back, I think. Might have been $30, but the specifics really aren't important.
The online store is still nice. You can get the game almost instantly, no hassle, no worrying about whether or not the local store has it in stock, or the third party online business is going to rip you off, and I used it for Nightfall, with no regrets.
This is getting a bit off-topic, however.

Guild wars nightfall went into the bargain bin after 6 weeks. I bought an extra copy in December (the game came out in October) for $19.99.
Actually, I think this promotion will save me more money this time. If people buy the game from the online store, then the unsold copies will pile up at the retailer... and it will hit the bargain bin even faster.
I have already decided that my Sweet spot for GWEN is $24.99. I will not pay more than that for what amounts to a couple of maps (and a hall of monuments that gives, at best, something like a divine aura in GW2). Yeah, people say that I cant be competitive in GW without it, but as I am not currently playing GW its no big loss. Maybe I change my mind once there are reviews of the game or after the preview event. Right now, GWEN is not worth $40 to me, so I have to calculate whether 4 future missions are really worth the difference.

Indeed, those 4 bonus missions however atractive are not worth to pay 20 euros for.I think ill buy GWEN here in hungary for about 24 euros with preorder. Dessupointing actualy, id love to do those missions but its just too damn expensive to give 1/5 of the moths pay for the expansion pack and 4 missions.
