ok, so we got many events that give us prizes, video cards, money, girls, hotels, etc etc THE WORKS!
I sudgest anet/plaync should focus their income (if any) on the game network issues, with all that money spent on prizes events and the such i think it would be a better investment to have a better network experience, i am really disapointed with all this latency issues, is got to a point that i rather NOT play guildwars at all.
Example ''U get into Ra, u get a good team, u win some rounds get into the 8th round, and wen u go in to the 9th OOPS! cant conect to the server'' now i guess u know what that feeling is For PVP PVE, ha, ab, gvg u name it. the network is so unreliable.
Now just think of it, i have my own bussness here in ecuador south america, and well i have learned that the best way to get more customers is by service, u know why? is the best advirtisement money CANT buy.
If a costumer is satisfied he will spread the good work about you and your bussiness. I actually got 4 friends to the gw realm a long time ago, now if u ask me about the game i might not even consider to recomend.(how could i?)
Please, focus on gameplay and how network is affecting it to the point you are gonna lose your costumers, spend your income in a smarter way. If ppl win the 100k prizes and the shazzel video cards, that is just for a few, invest that same money on the whole game and you will have happier and more loyal costumers that will get u more ppl sink into the game, thus income should grow.

untillthe worlds online networks all have the best wireing possible, people are going to have lag, be it the fault of anet or not. And more then half the time if you read the topics you can see most people have problems cause they don't know anything about computers, so many times people confuse frame rate with lag.
go to any mmo forum, and there will be lag topics.

i think is a very general issue, not local, many users have lots of problems with latency nowdays in guildwars. i know some lag in anygame is normal. But we are talking about abnormal numbers, u can go in at any outpost and arena and u can see the complains are more than usual. and my point is that instead of anet income focusing on prizes and the such, it should be focused on the gw game and its flaws. Get it?
thanks.

I don't lag at all in PvE and I have short period of "light" lag in AB, TA, etc etc
I wouldn't blame anet entirely for all the lag issues.

I got you the first time. Of course the complaints seem abnormal. the negative always overshadows anything positive, do people shout about their good connections?
I can't speak for everyone, but in the 2 years ive played this game, the lag was always on my end, be it my router or my bad isp.
Also when it comes to prizes, thats more of a promotional thing, and that most likely would be under Ncsofts side of things, not arenanets. and even then the prizes they have given away are nto that much in total, and certainly not enough to fix server problems.
and in anets business model they make more money by getting new customers and lose more with old ones, so if they stoped doing more promotional things they would end up haveing less money in the end

Hmm. Which event gives those again, exactly? Havent logged in for a bit, but that would be a slight change in the business model, no?

My serious reply is: I honestly dont think respective to the amount of money they earn that the percentage spent on prizes is really all that high. Certainly not enough to funnel money from prizes into servers. I do agree with you though that more from their budget should be allocated to address server issues. I just doubt it can come from the prizes budget.
