Default Do the quests get any better?

I bought Proph the week it came out, and played all the way to Lions Arch (R/Me 14) before I stopped playing for a reason I cant remember.

A few months ago, my 2 brothers brought headsets and extra accounts so we could all play together at the same time. We took a break for a month or two and just recently got back into it. Lately we've been having a blast, but one part of the game is starting to irk us.

Were at the Gates Of Kryta mission, so we've done quite a few quests and missions so far. My question is, do the quests and missions from this point on get more interesting?

Every quest/mission so far has been a variation of:

- Kill all the monsters
- Pull some levers

... and its getting real old real fast. Im starting to get sick of just running around and killing the same freakin enemies with the same boring skills.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated. This is my first post here and many more will come.

My in-game name is my username if you want to talk to me or group or whatever.

Nah, most quests are like that, but you're not required to do them. You only have to do the Primary quests and the Missions.
Even though you don't have to do other quests besides the Primaries, it's recommendable to do the quests with Skill rewards.

basically it will always be about killing monsters I think.
the goal of a mission/quest may vary, but you will always have to slay a lot of monsters to get there.

now I think about it, this is what MMORPG's are all about. never knew it would sound so boring xD

anyway, try to concentrate more on the storyline, and set some goals for yourself (gaining max titles, getting that 15K armorset, etc..)
this is what kept the game interesting for me for over 2 years now.

I can't say much about the quests in nf and factions because i havent done them(no point in doing them).BUT proph quests are worth it because of the skills ya get.

As for prophecies my favorite part of the game is the desert and south shiverpeaks. Missions in south shiverpeaks do get challenging and require tactics like getting infused to help you against the murssaat.

One question - have you played any other MMO's out there....

I've played a good few and overall I have to say that the quest variation in GW is a LOT better than others.

A huge number of MMo's out there quests consist SOLELY of go kill 20xwild dogs and bring back their tails

At least most of these quests have some storyline behind them.

There's only so much variation you can build in but if you compare to others I believe GW has some of the best quests out there.

It doesn't mean it can't get boring but compared to others it's way better... IMO.

The worst problem with quests id the marker.
There should be more quests like this one:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Double_Dog_Dare

And more that require strategies, different types of damage, etc...

I feel that the some of the missions later on in Prophecies are much better than the earlier ones.

Personally I just found prophecies boring, the other expansion/campaigns were alot more interesting in my experience.

No, the quests don't get any better.

It seems most people don't bother doing the quests, especially since 90%+ of the time, the quest rewards are completely pointless.

I recommend you, OP, stick with Missions and don't bother with quests, you'll probably have a lot more fun that way.

BS. In Prophecies you actually get SKILLS as rewards. Glad they're bringing that back with EotN.

Same shit, different bucket...it's the same with any game.

The fun starts in GW PvE when you unlock all skills, cap all elites, and create your own hero team / solo builds. But there's little incentive to run more than one toon through all campaign missions when you've been there, done that which is a shame. It'd be great if missions would vary depending on your primary, but it's 'same same' no matter what class you choose. Only the minor quests will vary, and they're hardly worth doing without skill rewards.

Well Luxon/Kurcick Faction rewards are good.
And in Nigthfall there are some quests that unlock certain content.

There rest are just pointless unless they add any kind of title track for making them all.
You usually get 10 times more gold from random drops during the quest than from making quests (100,200 gold)
Tyrian experience rewards suck. Only Canthan and Elonian have nice Exp rewards.
Tyran reward items (with a couple of exceptions) suck. The infamous grim csta should be a unique green obtainable at the end of Prophecies (and the existing ones updated to green item) and Quest giving items should give Reward Tokens instead like Canthan and Elonian.

Majority of quests are really standard fare across the board. Often its just deliver item A to person B, or go kill boss A at location B, or eliminate a number of enemies.

Pretty boring.

Unfortunately that's common to most if not all RPG's. I can't see GW reinventing the genre. They tried with the CORPG positioning, but that sorta died in the arse and the game seems to be catering for casual gamers these days.

Don't forget the save the NPC/run errands for the lazy NPC ones. There's also one that involves a bit of logic in NF that I still remember quite well. It was somewhere in The Hidden City of Ahdashim, maybe Gift of the Djinn.

In Prophecies, most quests are like that.
In Nightfall, the creators tried to add a bit more variaty to the quests. The missions are a lot better, and are more than just "kill group, move forward, kill next group". As for the quests.. they are a somewhat better I guess..

That’s pretty much all there is. Though I still find GW's quests more entertaining than those from WOW, or any other MMORPG I have played for that matter.

i'd definitely say there's better missions. all the quests are lame...only bother with the ones that get you skills. matter of fact, you've already finished some of the abslute worst missions in the game. ruins of surmia has to be the ALL TIME WORST mission in all three games. the three in the desert are kinda different. thirsty river and dunes are kinda litte pve versions of heroes ascent.

oh yeah. do magi malaquire's quests. his second one gets you 2 free capturesignets. best quest in the game.
