Ok, first of all this game has so few problems its not even funny. This is one of the most balanced and bugless games I have seen. When one bug comes along everyone just seems to freak out.
Now I am 100% in favor of a rollback, because that many ambraces will ruin the economy, and a rollback would only go a day or so back tops. Once the fix the bug they should have a rollback, and that will be the end of it. I am also in favor of banning all the people that exploit this bug. If they are so set on getting rich quick that they would ruin a game I love, then thats 1 less dumb player I don't have to deal with.
People are sayings I will quit GW if they have a rollback because in the past 3 months I have worked hard....blahblah...and I am going to quit if they have a rollback. No game would have a 3 month rollback. The problem has only recently become apparent. Most games that have a bug like this will rollback a couple hours, a day tops. Now if your gonna quit over a couple hours lost work.."then thats 1 less dumb player I don't have to deal with.

Rollback would be ftl.
I think Anet either need to set aside a team of staff to track down all of those responsible and ban them. Or employ extra staff to track down all of those responsible and ban them.
Hopefully once done and the number of armbraces and other materials flooding the economy has been reduced then the prices will stabalise.

A roll back would be mental.... this new favour system has shown LOADS of maxed titles going through, and I am one of those maxing a title over this last weekend.
I would hate to have all my personal time I spent maxing that title be wiped out due to this... I am allowed to waste my time, I'd hate to have to do it all again... 35,000 LB was a lot of pain to get....
Purge all armbraces from the game and bring in a new thing...
Scan all accounts for excessive armbraces and ban their asses...
There always has to be some jerkoffs who spoil things for others.... if its not the idiots who buy gold its something else...

I just learned of this today, and read the whole thread.
To think i was going to trade a rare shield for one.
/sickened
bought one for 5k.
People are trying to get rid of them while they can.
Selling 1750 for 5k is still a TON of money.
I have no idea what is to be done.
Cheers to fenix, Enko and co. that helped prove this.

Reading almost all of these pages, I think this situation is really unfortunate for A-net.
It's hard to handle, because almost every action they take can hit honest players.
It's also just before the release of GWEN, also bad timing.
However, while not sure, I doubt weapons could be duplicated.
Weapons seem to be 'unique' instances in the database, because they can be modded and customized. It should not be able to dupe unique database instances.
Minipets are harder to track, but the high-end ones are limited, so A-net knows how many are supposed to be out there.
Stackable items seem to be non-unique database items.
Just a pointer to number X of item Y (for example 10 red dye).
I think the most important thing A-net could do is being very communicative on what happened and what kind of actions they are taking or considering.
Even being honest and saying "we just don't know, give us time to investigate" gives a signal.
Perhaps they could even put frequent (every one or two hour) updates on their website. That should be the main source of information at this time, not the various forums.
In the end, there is a lot of uncertainty among their customers, which is very bad at this time.
It's a delicate situation. Doing the wrong thing will have huge impact on GWEN sales.
I wish A-net best of luck taking the right actions.
Edit: fixed two minor grammar errors

Thank the Lord our God I am on vacation for the past 2 weeks and didnt get anything to drop for me expensive or anything else of the sort. These big things always happen when im gone, like the roll back when the sup. absorbtions and vigors were like 200 gold and various other materials. I am always on vacation! Hopefully this all gets sorted out for everyone elses sake without a rollback although I dont know how they wont.

DoA is full of people trying to buy them for 5-10k, its quite funny.
Rollbacks into the dragon festival just won't happen. They've already had to repeat the festival once because of lag, having to repeat it AGAIN because they rollbacked the final day is just not gonna happen.

Hundreds if not thousands have maxed titles over the last few days, myself included.... can bet this will piss a lot of people off if there was even a moment of rollback...
Hell I also got into Jade Quarry to map there.... please no rollback !!!
Just remove armbraces from the game and ban the accounts with loads of them in....

I can see right now that all the people who are doing this are reading our comments right now. They are probably transferring all their armbraces to their other chars and soon it will look like they never did anything. O.o

People will always find a way to cheat, make things easier, ect. and as far as gaming goes it will not matter what game you play it will have an issue at some point. However a small roll back of even a day is indeed a big deal to some folks. This happening right after an event isn't good and suggesting a period of one month is insane and I can gaurentee that would equal a loss of players. The more likely action is the mass bans and targeting the items themselves which has already been suggested.

ANet please prevent all acquisition and trading of Ambraces, including from NPC's. At least and until this can be fixed.

OMG this is unbelieveable the only way to clearly say how bad this is would be to use swears, but my mom wont let me because Im not adult yet.
When I turn 13 and am adult I will come back here and cuss this out so hard you'll cry an I wont say sorry either. And I hope you are ugly and that cant be fixed by a rollback because ugly is for life noobs
I am so angry because my mom wont let me play PvP because of swears, and I cant trade now either because she doesnt want me to catch an esteadee from all the intercoursed items so I dont know what that even meens but I will be swearing at the dupers the day I turn 13 and am adult and I cant wait.

Sorry, not buying it. Stack of Armbraces = ~17,500 ectos = 70 stacks. Nobody is converting 70 stacks to armbraces.

Talk about selfish. 99.9% of players have never even seen an armbrace, get over yourself, please, the majority doesnt care about your torment weps or armbraces and whether you did or didnt buy/sell them. The majority DOES care about losing all they worked for for a month to appease a relative few high end traders and farmers.
|
agreed!
only DOA is affected by this dupe thing. if anet wud do a rollback 99.9% of players will personally be mad about anet because they are the ones who didnt hav anything to do with the exploit yet they lose all their accomplishments for a whole month.
another thing:
i dont think that customizing AoT's will be stupid because it will ruin DOA because the # of players will decrease in that area due to limited access to arbraces because its untradable. sample: i want a tormented sword + shield. i have to player with that char up to the end until i get 1 tormented weapon. that means that i have to do it again for a tormented shield? no ty.
my suggestion is making AoT's non stackable leaving players limited amount in their inventories... i mean, who would hav grinded 1xxx armbraces? that almost impossible... aven a stack of AoT's is insane... thats also a means by tracking down those abusers because its not normal to have tos amount of armbraces per acc
