Couldn't they have a refund? If you bought an tormented weapon before today, you get 10 * 4 gems back?

So much for, “What you don’t know cannot hurt you.”
I am sure Anet can check the chat logs etc. and be able to tell who really are the innocent / guilty parties.
If there are alot of banned innocent players and they are all on forums kicking up a fuss Anet would have to deal with them as it really does not look good for Anet.
Although if I was banned and guilty I would pretend I was innocent kick up a fuss on a forum and hope Anet dont check things thoroughly due to the recent mayhem and unban my guilty arse

So you knew who started all of the duplicating? Was this before all the bans happened and public knowledge of the duping?
If you did know prior to this you had a duty to report him/her to Anet.
I really cannot feel sorry for you if you knew prior to the duping becoming public knowledge.

i just really hope when gw2 comes out and they start to introduce new features and what not, that they actually make sure they aren't bugged. i recently got legendary survivor and the whole time i played i was really excited, but not that i have it... i dont really care about gw anymore. i found that if you want to feel really good about yourself in gw you have to spend way more time than im willing to spend. me, and many people i know who play the game are looking for a fresh start so until than, this game seems pointless.

I think people are missing the point if arena net has banned alot of these people who most likely haven't sold over 1k armbraces which is really hard..I assume. Then once all this is over only say a minority of the game will have gotten these and will most likely go straight for the weapons asap. So give or take a few weeks and the price will likely go up.
I really hope the reconnect feature comes back btw =P got several disconnects while we were doing some GvG battles and want it more so in explorable i.e. vanquishing. ^^ I really commend arena net for taking swift action though.

I'm sure it's been posted numerous times, but I haven't come across it yet either and I'm curious as well.
So what exactly was the exploit that has caused such a fuss?

Just want to show my support for Enko and Fenix. Hope you guys (if Fenix got banned, not clear) get your accounts back shortly. Vigilantism must be rewarded, not punished! So, yeah, give these guys their accounts back and a free, rare minipet as a thank you!

Cant wait for more guilty people to come on here pretending they are innocent.
The "Ive Been Banned" threads / posts should prove an interesting read over the next few days.

I still don't understand why 90% of you people get soooo emotional about this, ranting to Arenanet, ranting towards other players.. what is your problem? Do you post here to be cool, to join the club? It's not like exploits like this pop up every week, I played Guild Wars for 12 months with a large, 7 month break and I have never heard of such an exploit or bug. Please get some reference. e.g. Do you think all the cheats/hacks are detectable and banned in the biggest FPS's in the world (First Person Shooters)? There are still people using aimbots in high end leagues (in Counter-Strike: Source for example), if you ask me, that is way worse than some PvE exploit that doesn't affect the casual player at all ... Also WoW suffers way more servercrashes, and other stuff that shouldn't happen. OMG, one exploit on a yearly basis, pretty good if you ask me .

Hold on, I want to make sure I get this correct. You knew your friend was duping, and he was giving you free stuff, but you thought it wasn't duped stuff? You just thought he had hundreds of ambrace to give away?
Good luck in your appeal.

@thechunkymonkey
I'm sorry to say this but thats like a friend saying here have an Austin Martin, I know I can't conceivably buy an Austin Martin but have one anyways, and no questions asked.
Right...
I can see helping a friend out with buying 15k armor as a gift or even giving a friend 100k but PLEASE! Think about it how many Armbraces did you have?, how many did your "friend" give you? and you had not idea as to how he got it?

hmm..
there are some ways how they do it I think they did it like this:
Buying cash on goldsites or either bots. Then buy gemsets and on a special moment of the day the chance is increased getting a armbrace. Or they use a reconnect error that let them get multiplie gems from chests. Like when they open the chest they catch them in air or something and then relog and go back in to chest. But I personnally think they made a trick with logging out of the account. Cause it hasnt began before that update did not came.

They still exploited the game even if it was just to get proof of this exploit it broke the rules. They don't deserve any special treatment.

Let the Buyer Beware. If something is to good to be true then it probably is. Who is more at fault? The Hit Man or the Person who hires the hit man? If you took several Stacks of Armbrace's and seriously thought something fishy was not going on then you deserve to be banned. Don't tell me that you thought a guild member was just passing out that many Armbraces cause he got them fair and square. Once an Exploit is found out I'm almost positive the guild member would be to full of himself not to tell how he got them. It is very hard for people to keep a secret. I think that many in once persons inventory is pretty rare.

quoted for accuracy and truthfulness also the last part which could be a star wars reference.
I think this is all clearing up now. Hopefully arm braces will go back to near they're normal selves soon.
