Oh ffs this is geting stupid, Guru is going so slowly, i can't even get an 'advanced' message box to show up.

@ Enko. So they banned you and probably fenix for confirming this? I guess you could pass it off as a precaution, they might just check your accounts to make sure you haven't been doing it all this time and are attempting to worm your way out. But if they keep you banned... then nobody will ever report something like this again if this is the reward.

You're just asking to get flagged for a ban doing that, regardless if you're joking or not.

Why wouldn't they buy them? Its not against the rules, especially as you can't tell if a item is legit or not. Duping is an exploit, but where a sold item came from isn't the buyers problem.

first one point

i have made specific anti eliteist posts with specific exaples given

I HAVE NOT MADE ONE POST AGAINST THE RICH IN GENERAL

having said that what i posted was in direct answer to what this exploit will have on the GENERAL player base

probably less than the great trader price reset where random people got rich as fast as they could press *BUY*

No. Just because you got shafted as a result of this doesn't mean that everyone has to suffer.

If you know what an Armbrace does, chances are you know how much it should be worth, someone selling one for 10k should raise and immediate red flag, not to mention that EVERYONE is talking about this in every major trading hub.

I doubt the people who were looking through to see this were told by gaile "BTW DONT BAN [X] and [Y]"

Even if she did, im sure considering the frenzy theyre probably in right now they ignored it when they saw it.

Not like you wont get it back.

prices going down down

anyway we need at least a week rollback from the duping
i hate to say it unless they can detect and destroy the corrupted items and ban those involved

When someone offers you 100k for your minipig, its not your responsibility to make sure he didn't Ebay the gold, even if it is likely. This is the same thing. They probably did cheat for those armbraces, but that’s their problem, not yours.

Armbrace prices are in a state of pure chaos. I hate to say it, but an economic rollback at this point is possibly required.

Im sure Enko and others will get unbanned once cooler heads prevail. If anything we can start a petition on it. Overall its bad PR to ban them. Gaile knows this.

Then again I'm sure some of the Heads at ANET are very very very upset over this.

Well, this has certainly been an interesting read this morning. I actually slept last night, so I missed out on all the excitement. I woke up to find the "new build" message, but that's not unusual. I assumed the new build was just deleting the Dragon Festival (or Fesitval as A-Net called it) stuff.

I'm curious how this will affect the long term economy. Especially the prices for Rare minipets and Tormented items. I am a minipet collector and I have my heart set on owning a Tormented Shield 1 day so I'm very interested in this.

Fact: 1000's of dup Armbraces have entered the economy.
Fact: Dupers have traded 1000's of Armbraces for rare pets.
Fact: Dupers have been banned.

This results in a permanent removal of rare pets replaced with Armbraces. How many Panda's were in the game to start with? Does someone have the correct number? It was less than 50 wasn't it? How about kanaxi's? Oni's? yeti's? Beetles?

How many pets were in fact traded to the dupers? Even with the bans this still leaves 1000s of bogus Armbraces in the game. Surely that will have a long-term affect on prices. And a rare pet has been removed forever.

who actually cares about armbrace/tormented weapon prices? there are 5 people who are trading armbraces but 1000000 people who are trading with ectos and ectos got duplicated too.... I'm sure.

Or better yet, doing such a rollback, and then adding the mission and quest rewards gained during the time that was rolled back to the players inventories?

Such a partial rollback would remove whatever happened to the economy in the time rolled back. It wouldn't cost you your titles or missions or whatever, nor should it, as you can't trade a stack of armbraces for sunspear points, mission completion, etc. At worst, a few people trying for drunkard or sweet tooth would get an unfair bonus. That's hardly game-breaking.
Perhaps because Anet has stated numerous times that they have no capability to do a partial rollback. All they can do is reset the database to a particular point at which it was backed up.

On another note, I sincerely doubt they have dedicated the resources to keep total db backups that go back a whole month anyway.
