The new party screen
Idk about you guys, but it certainly bugs me when I see the new party bar. Why the hell did they remove the option when you could resize it in both directions? Give me ONE good reason! I am used to drag it all the way dawn so that there is empty space below the party memebers. Now it's harder for me to monk as well (I was away for some time), I can't and don't want to get used to it. It's just stupid, why would they "update" something like this. At least give us an option to resize it like before, atm it totally sucks.

There is a thread about this already.
Most monks agree though.

Actually if you think about it just a lil bit, WE own it, we pay for the game and they update things so that we can enjoy them. Without the players there is no game. Not that such a thing would make anyone leave, but the reason you gave is anything but a good one.

No we don't own it, same with music, dvd movies and software, this is just as the world spins, it doesn't matter what do you think.

Actually there is some sense in it. Look at it this way: They own the game, they own your characters, so they could anything with your account, with the game including the partybar. Don't know what the reason behind changing it was.

They make lazy bum improvements, just like this auto-targetting.
The toggle for such features is not optional, but a must nowadays. Then everyone would be happy.

I'm trying to get a handle on whay a monk would want the extra gray space at the bottom, but anywhoo...
i like the auto-resize party screen. i was always having to re-size. not that big of deal, cosmetic improvement really, but i like it.

A.net is obsessed with fixing things that are not broken in the first place while putting things people actually are concerned about on the backburner.

I monk (have for more than 2 years) and I love it! I utterly fail to see how an automatically resizing party bar influences your monking at all other than to save you the trouble of having to resize it all the time.
Now the + buttons to collapse and expand allies and pets are a different matter... if you don't avoid them when you go to click on a party member that needs a heal, by the time you expand the list again that ally or pet could be dead!... but I only consider that a minor annoyance and adaptation. Took about 3 times of making that mistake before I was cured of it.
To me the resizing party bar has been a godsend. I can't sign your gripe.

It's absolutely annoying. I've been monking for some time now and I still can't get used to this stupid party window. I NEED my blank space below the party member to get a sense of where the window stops. Not only that, it makes me feel more comfortable :<
About the + dropdown, it's absolutely horrid, even worse than the window itself. Every time I go to heal/infuse/prot the Ghostly, I know that once a match I'll click on the ally bar and hide everything. Can we please lock that thing? The drop down is just terrible.

I'm an ele which is starting to learn how to monk (on my monk, duh ) and I must say I don't see the fuss. Unless you're doing Gyala Hatchery the party window doesn't get TOO big.
IMO the idea was pointless, yes, but so severe that you can't play well? I'd say no.

I play monk, and have been for two years. I RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing love the new party window.. aside from the Allies bar. The entire row which says 'Allies' is clickable, rather than only the little button with the +/- on it. This makes accidental clicking way too common. Fix that and it would be basically perfect.
Other than that, no more resizing every damn time I play with a different number of people. One of the best updates in recent memory.

I never liked the change to begin with. As a monk I was very particular about the size and shape of my party list.
After playing with it for a while I've found that it doesn't make much difference.
In conclusion, chill out, stop whining about every little thing, pick your battles more wisely.

I dont get this arguement. Personally I like the change and I understand why the change was made. I hated the old party menu, cuase i constantly had to fuss with it, it was annoying. I would join a party and that damn menu would jump all over the place and could be any size. Now I have it where I want it, it stays there and doesnt move, and opens to always display all the charactors in the party.
Yes I do monk, have 2 char I play alot Necro (BiP alot) and Monk both support char that require alot of red bar switching, not problems. Took a little while to get used to the collapse bar, but if you arn't frantically clicking those can easily be avoided.

If you're clicking on party members to select them as a Monk, you're doing it wrong.
NumPad FTW.
(even in 12-member areas such as The Deep or Urgoz you can still use 9 / * -)

no, you're stupid. If you sequentially click both buttons, you are wasting too much time and the person you are trying to heal will quite often be spiked down. If you're using two hands, then you cant click to move or WASD to kite. Either way, numpad monking is retarded
