Will there ever be another Sorrow's Furnace?
I've always been hoping that someday Anet will do another huge add-on to Prohphecies, Factions, and maybe Nightfall. But probably won't be soon due to the GWEN but maybe when that cools down they'll be another huge update! what do you think?

Don't hold your breath. Maybe once GW2 goes live or something just to kinda "wrap things up" as the servers start to empty out.
But if they can make money on it, they will. See the "free" 4 mission expansion for purchasing from the online store. Only reason it exists is because by ordering GW:EN online, A.net saves money by not having to produce and ship/distribute as many boxed copies.

NCSoft is the producer, therefore it's actually NCSoft who saves money on shipping less physical product.

Wasn't the whole reason there was a sorrow's furnace was because ANet got stuck figuring out how handle a second campaing and wanted to add some filler to keep us happy while they were delayed?

There was supposed to be 6 months between each chapter release. Factions didn't fit this plan, it released about a year after Prophecies. So to fill in this gap they released the sorrows furnace add-on to keep people occupied until Factions was released. At least thats the way I remember it.
So I wouldn't expect something similar anytime soon, perhaps a year after EotN they might release something to keep people interested.

It would be nice. There will be a lot of time between GW:EN and GW2 so maybe if everyone completed GW:EN they could release a small free add-on.
I already have been wondering about the islands in the northwest of the large Prophecies/GW:EN map. I would love to see some explorable area's there. The Ring of Fire islands were great.

18 of them. Buy GW:EN, XD.
Now really, there are many places all over the world with misterous appearances:
Prohecies:
-Many closed doors over the the Catacombs used to be.
-Many doors leading nowhere in the Shiverpeaks.
-The Gate behind Rotscale.
Factions:
-Kinya Province, closed door at the north.
-Kaineng City: Many holes in the ground.
-Tahnnakai Temple: Closed door at the east wall.
-Echovald forest, compass rose in Arborstone
Nightfall
-Mehtani Keys ancient temple.
-Door leading nowhere in Barbarous Shore.
-Cracked door in Forum Highlands.
-Area out of reach in Poisoned Outcrops.
If an entrace to a new dungeon is meant to exist, it's meant to exist there.

Would be nice if they did a promotional thing in which you could get GW2 at half the price if you owned all the other guild wars campaigns. It'd serve them well too, since you know people would buy the missing campaigns in order to be able to buy GW2 at half price.
Though I won't hold your breath on a big update. However, with all the festivals they do, I don't think they'll be going anywhere after the release of GW2. More likely is they'll hold events on both GW2 and GW1 at the same time.

Lol. Yeah, that won't happen Hawkeye. By the time GW2 comes out in 2 to 3 years, you could probablly buy all the other GWs for like $15-20 US (I mean like, for all of them). GW1 would be a 4-5 year old game by then. If GW2 costs like $60 (makes sense considering the trends in gaming), they'd lose money.
Plus, with GW2, part of the motivation would be to REDUCE sever load on the old game by getting all the players on the new one.
