Yeah. It's like that. I can't believe I read this thread long enough to see this post.
Seriously, what the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO is with you people? It's a goddamn game. Why don't you go get pissed off about something productive like taxes, war or hell, even kittens. You can look at these skills however you like, there will always be people who thought they were better before, or after. But if you spend the amount of time bitching, whining and trying to textually one up each other, you'd probably... have fun. Scandal, I know.
That, or you could just go play something else. Whatever. As a primary monk, I really don't care that Seed of Life got 'smacked with the nerf bat', I'm still going to play my monk, I played it before, I'll play it after. One skill, hell, a handful of skills isn't going to make me change the way I play, who I play with, etc. You have people on here screaming that they'll never spend money on another Arenanet game again. Over a single skill. Technically I suppose it isn't even their money as mommy gave it to them.
But yeah, high school kids. Definately explains it. At least when I was in high school, I tried not to be so obvious of a little shit. I'm not going to check this post again, feel free to flame. I have a little something you guys should learn, at least a little; how to not care when stupid people open their mouths. Or in this case, spasm their fingers on a keyboard and hitting enter.

Seed of life on a bonder is still sexy... still has its place even if it is very limited, TNTF i think shouldnt have a 20second recharge time, maybe 15 or so... imo anyway

if anything the nerf to TnTF means you need 2 paragons in a party to chain it

My theory is ANET nerfed TNTF because of the Quetzal Tengu in GWEN. If you used your paragon's level of TNTF anywhere near those guys, it would probably mean guaranteed party wipe for you..... thanks anet much appreciated.
Actually, if any paragons go anywhere near Quetzals, just shut yer trap and don't use any shouts or chants period =b.

Nerfing pve skills doesnt really make any sense at all, I mean how can you talk about balance when your already fighting foes that have skills you dont and lvls you cant achieve....
I can understand, though I often dont like, when they nerf skills due to pvp imbalance. However there is little reason to do so to pve only skills...
The game is easy to begin with, if this makes it a little easier, so what??
The hard core people got their Hard Mode and the Domain of Anguish.
IF somebody finds it fun to go out with an over powered skill and destroy the monsters quickly and easily I dont see the harm in it.

The truth of the matter is: ANet can only balance a certain number of skills at any given time. Even with the skills we have now, there really isn't absolute balance. It's more of a "some skills are good, most skills are okay, and the rest suck."
I'll give you an example of what most think "balance" is about:
[skill]Signet of Removal[/skill] compared to [skill]Blessed Light[/skill]
Both are Elite, but guess which one I'm gonna use?
This is not the "balance" that Guild Wars is aiming for. ANet looks at the PvP part of the game, relates it to the PvE part, and manages skills accordingly. Even PvE is slowly turning towards a PvP game play. Monsters kite, prioritize attacks on Monks, and avoid AoE damage better than any standard Henchman. This is probably to help everyone with the "inevitable" transition from PvE to PvP.
Guild Wars, in the long run, is a game of Paper - Rock - Scissors.
We are only given 8 skill slots. From this, we choose what kind of "build" we want. Some more examples:- I choose a skill that Heals for ALOT, but has slow recharge.
- You choose a skill that sacrifices damage for interrupting.
- I choose an enchantment that sacrifices energy for increased casting time in order to avoid interrupts.
- You choose a skill that negates enchantments and deals mass damage.
That's just one of many examples. When you make a build, you can only focus on 8 skills. Those 8 skills have to be better than what your opponent has or you'll be shut down.
Bring in 7 other people and the situation doesn't change. It's still a game of Paper - Rock - Scissors. The number of participants has just changed.
You use the few skills that are good. When they get nerfed, you switch to another decent skill.
This'll lead to one of two outcomes:- All skills will sooner or later be dwindled down until they are all equally sucky, making them equally good.
- Or
- Balance between all skills will be lost and the idea of balance will have to be redetermined.
So, while they still may be PvE skills, ANet is aiming for a more "PvP game". If they made PvE too easy, then the transition between PvE and PvP would be lost, and those who currently only play PvE would never want to do PvP.
People will say that balance "does" or "does not" exist in PvE, but that's not what ANet bases these balances on. The game's PvP content is suppose to be what Guild Wars is based on. Even PvE skills will be affected.
