EDIT: walking all around the platform and waiting fro the fire, I can see no spot on the circular pathway that wraps around the furnace that stays burning for a short time afterwards.

I've been able to gather up all the materials, but I have just one small problem. Me and my friends have always played the Luxon side, and have never done any of the Kurzick missions. Rather annoying to find out that we'd have to go through quite a bit of them just to get this stupid egg.

Would anyone be kind enough to take our eggs and go get them hardened for us?

Only problem with getting a Kurzick to run those for you is would you trust them with your baby moa eggs? not a very good mother just handing your eggs over like that...But Im actually going to run a couple eggs today for myself so if anyone is that trusting I will run them. ign is .... Um ill have to have my wife im it to me and Ill put it up.

Edit: I wont be on till about 7pm pst though.

Trust is a wonderful thing, and I have no doubt you're 100% trustworthy, however, I thought of a way people might not have to worry about it. If you've got a supply of hardened eggs, you can trade the normal eggs for the hardened eggs. And then when you run out of hardened eggs (if you're still feeling magnanimous), take the normal eggs you just got in trade to the falls, harden them, come back and do it all over again.

should also clear something up for the SF part. You need to get hit by the falling lava the Golem drops on you for the last part....it has nothing to do with the furnace itself i think.

while this sint a bad idea this requires me to go out and get a bunch of normal eggs which I wasnt planning on doing. Ive already collected the eggs I need for my chars. I was just goign to run people eggs on my one trip to harden mine.

Here's a combined post with some of the maps that community members have already posted and a write up on how to obtain the baby moa chick. If anyone wants to add to this or a mod wants to make a guide out of this feel free

OKay Mini-Moa mystery solved

1.) Head straight out of Fort Ranik and enter Regent Valley heading due south to get your Moa egg. You will run into a group of Moa birds. Go to the farthest nest and steal a moa egg by clicking on the nest itself.

2.) Next you'll have to harden the egg shell itself by traveling to Cantha and placing it in the waters of Morning Veil Falls.This area is SW of the Durheim Archives and is the closet out post to the falls itself. One can leave from other areas as well but the Archives is the closet out post.

3.) Next starting from the Ember Light Camp in Tyria travel in a northern direction until you reach the shore line. There you will fight a few drakes and find some volcanic rocks.

4.) You'll also need a herring which you can obtain from the collector Guhn in Twin Serpent Lakes. Leaving from Riverside province it doesn't take long to reach the collector. You will need 5 Bog scale fins to trade for the herring. The area around Twin Serpent lakes isn't a bad place to farm for the bog scales. One can also try the swampy area just outside of Lion's Arch as well to obtain the Bog scale fins.

5.) Next head to Elona and get nesting material from the collector Mishu. He is located in the Resplendent Makuum and you'll need 5 skree wings for the nesting material. The area inside the Resplendent Makuum is a good place to farm and collect your skree wings.

6.) You'll also need some Juni berries. These are obtained by doing the quest " insatiable appetite " in the marga coast by feeding Toma. To pick up this quest leave from the sunspear sanctuary and talk with Chuno when you enter the village.

7.) You'll also need some Honey Comb. This can be obtained by doing the quest " Hunter's Pride " which is given by Hogni Truth seeker in Drakker lake. After completing the quest you are given 3 pcs of honeycomb.

8.) Now head to Gunnar's Hold and enter the norn fighting tournament. Speak with Magi the Bison and fight in the tourney until you face and defeat Zho. You'll be able to easily recognize who he is since he will show up with a Black Moa. Once he is defeated he will give you his journal which contains all the clues needed to make your mini moa chick.

9.) After receiving Zho's journal go to the luxon capital of Cavalon and speak with Captain Juno.

10.) You'll then head into the Gayla Hatchery and find Katherine. Take 50 spirit wood planks, 10 steel and 5 plat to Katherine in Gayla Hatchery to get an incubator kit from her.

11.) The last part will be to head into Sorrow's Furnace and head into the furnace area itself. You'll need to have the quest " Final Assault " equipped as you'll need to blast your way into that area. If you haven't beaten the initial Sorrow Furnace quests you'll have to complete them in-order to continue.Once in the furnace area head toward the walk way where the Rage Binders are at and eventually you will be hit with " Sorrow's Flame " and then your incubator kit will turn into a mini moa chick.

List of items needed for incubator kit - hardened moa egg, nesting material, volcanic rocks, herring, honeycomb, and juni berries.

If you don't have spirit wood planks which are a rare crafting material you can try farming them in the Haiju Lagoon on Shing Island by killing dragon lilly and grasping roots. Dragon moss in other areas will drop these as well. You can also use Schinichiro in Seitung Harbor. He is a artisan who will craft spirit wood planks for 5 wood, 10 glittering dust and 100 gold. He is located in the harbor itself so thee is no need to run anywhere and one only needs to map to that out post.

Here's the end result. Which is a baby black moa chick. It isn't customized to your character either so if you want to pass this on to another you can 8-)

I don't think anyone has answered the question of quest "repeatablity" yet. Also...can you do the quest in "plurals"? I.E. get two of everything and make two birdies. My bf isn't going to get to play much this weekend and I was hoping to get us both moas by then. Any info is appreciated.

BLACK MINI MOA FTW!

I just finished Final Assault on my Warrior and in the process I received my little baby birdy.

Also to answer a lot of peoples questions...

No the miniature is NOT, I repeat... NOT customized to the character you get it on. Thus, if you wanted you could use the same character to do everything all over again and make a mini for each of your characters or to sell them, though at a cost of having to farm for skales, wings, berries, doing quest for honeycomb (never saw a NPC to buy them from) having to do Sorrows Furnace quests (4 of them, plus Final Assualt), 5 plat for incubator, cost of Spiritwood planks (cheapest if you just craft these with wood, dust and 100g) and having access to all 4 areas, and hoping for Zho to spawn the going rate to sell these is going to be probably a minimum of 20k... minimum.

I don't really see the problem either way. Even if you decided to run off with the Eggs, it would take less than two minutes to return to Fort Ranik to pick up another one.

It's a very clever way of anet suppressing farming - no more kilroy chest farm since the quest has to be done for the egg hatching

The quests are all repeatable, so no, that doesn't work.
