It'd be pretty funny if the moa egg hatched into a (normal sized) charmable moa bird, which you can find where you stole the egg from. xD

I'm away from home this week so I can't do anything except follow this thread on the forums! I gathered a couple of eggs and had got them hardened before I left home though, but I can't try any of the other stuff yet.
Anyway, a silly idea: Several people have mentioned the Python reference of cutting down the tallest tree in the forest with a herring and we already know that the devs love Python. I was trying to think what is the biggest tree in the game and decided that the biggest tree in the game has probably already been cut down. There is a massive tree stump in an abandonded village in Dry Top (I think). I always thought that the tree stump should have some purpose other than just being scenery. So, just wondered if anyone had checked it out with the herring in their inventory.
Probably a stupid idea, but I do love this kind of thing!

One would think the Moa's would be smart enough to have a security alarm at their nests by now...

If you have to ask then you will never understand, but for you and the others who dont' I will answer...
The egg.
It doesn't matter what the hell laid that egg, the moa (chicken, whatever) came from an egg. Even if it was genetically grown in a lab on a space ship it still had to be incubated in an egg for proper growth.

In GW2 there are no more Moa, there will be some guy explaining that some crazy people trying to make a mini moa stole all the eggs anf ate them.

If you look when you picked up the egg out of the moa nest, there is a hole full of ashen lava-like stuff. So maybe they need the warmth. Maybe that's why the moas chose that spot!

Exactly... now we just have to find the spot to make the nest at.
Dunno why u need to harden it tho, but the herring is obvious i guess. Berries cant be said wether or not they belong to the quest.

Does anyone think that the volcanic rock is used to COOK the herring? I mean yea its odd because most birds eat raw fish, but it is a game right? so anything is possible

This could all just be part of a plan to link GW to GW2... you get a "mini moa" that many years down the line has grown into a treasured family pet/mount... I'm just saying.

For those of you who haven't farmed your bog skale fins yet, I didn't see the suggestion here, and I think I read every post, but last night I farmed Tears of the Fallen. I only had to zone once after I got there, and I spent about 1.5 hours to get five fins. There are a lot more skales concentrated in a smaller area than the area outside Lion's Arch (which is the area I saw recommended here), and it's just north of Twin Serpent Lakes where Gruhn the Fisher is located.

To farm Skale Fins, just go outside Fisherman's Haven with a fire ele and use Rodgorts Invocation + Searing Flames. Kill 2 mobs then map back to town and repeat.
Go alone, obviously.

I don't understand soloing if there is loot scaling now. Are bog skale fins exempt from scaling?
I started from Fisherman's Haven to get to Tears of the Fallen and was terribly disappointed. The "mobs" consisted of two skales and one drake, and there weren't very many. I killed every skale there and they didn't yield even one fin. Then Tears of the Fallen was just teeming with skales, the mobs were as many as eight (I remember how daunting that was when I first started playing GW) and it was bam bam bam... five fins.

You're right in that the berries have been in the game for quite some time now, however, there was a minor change to the quest at some point in the recent past that makes it so now instead of Chuno giving you a single branch of berries, he gives you a number of branches = the the number of things Toma ate divided by 5. Furthermore, there is now a counter box right in the middle of the screen when you have the quest saying that Toma has eaten ___ creatures. Both of these things are pretty new (when I can't say as I don't know), so while the berries may or may not be a part of the scavenger hunt, they are definitely doing 'something' with the quest.

Fragile nests can be moved out of storage. I had the same problem. The only thing is, once out of storage, they can't go back in. If you're having trouble getting them out of storage, use an item in your inventory and swap it with the nests.
