From what I've read, is that Chinese government is *very* strict about the content that reaches their population, for fear that their people will no longer be ignorant, which may be an unjust statement, but that's how I understand it.
And because of that, if GW China had access to international districts, then there would be more contact from outside of the country, and since the government tries to limit that sort of thing, 9city must be preventing that.
You all remember when Google tried bringing their search engine to China, their results are very filtered due to government regulations.
Just my two cents.

Not to mention that Arenanet has nothing to do with this because its NCSoft that made a deal with The9. How about referring the user to NCSoft, they are awake probably now and probably even understand Chinese quite well.

I've seen Gaile respond at the wee hours of the morning (only a few miles from the city [which name escapes me] where Areanet is located) to threads before, but maybe they were at some convention in a different country, I'm not sure. Gaile could get the information to the higher-ups @ NCSoft a lot faster than some disgruntled users sending tickets through help support with different stories. But whatever.

Gaile has seen the thread, thanks to her wiki talk page, and forwarded it on to the appropriate people.

Hey people, I know you're joking, but there are many, many legitimate Chinese and Korean GW players.
Anyway, good luck, chinagw!

Wow... the DaoDeJing, one of the two books that contain the writings behind the philosophy, Daoism, and that were presumably written around the sixth century BCE (during the Zhou dynasty in China), says it is wise to keep the masses ignorant. It's weird to hear that particularly unpleasant philosophy echoed 2600 years later.

It's 'the9' who are the main company, and I suppose the9city are an offshoot. And yeah, because NCSoft are greedy, they do STUPID deals to get cash (ie EB Games, the9), which screws over players. But they don't care because they still make money from it.
