Buying from Bots
Hello,
When I was reading the code of conduct I saw this:
You may not use any third-party program (such as a "bot") in order to automate gameplay functions, including playing, chatting, interacting, or gathering gold or items within Guild Wars. You may not assist, relay, or store gold or items for other players who are using these processes.
Does that mean, I cant buy stuff from bots?
And how can I know who is a bot and who isnt?
Thanks,
~Prof.

Yep, it does mean that you cannot buy items from bots. But I don't know how to tell what a bot trader is like, sorry. :S

Where are you seeing "buy"? I guess assist or relay could be very loosely interpreted that way, but c'mon. They aren't gonna ban you for trading someone you didn't know and didn't know was botting. I think (just my impression) that's aimed at those whose guildies/friends are botting, they store gold, "launder" cash etc, but claim innocence because "well, *I* wasn't running the bot...."

You sure you got the whole story?
I've bought hundreds of unid from gold farmers/bots, many people have.

Not the whole, I think.
But, he told me he bought 100+ unids off bots, and he got banned.
I just wanted to know if it's really against the rules to buy from bots.

It's more do you know your buying from bots or was it an Innocent transaction.
If you are knowingly buying from bots & Anet catches you, they may punish you.
If anet thinks you un-knowingly buy from a bot, most likely due nothing.

Just PM a bot with this:
"0101000001110010011001010111001101110011001000000 10000010110110001110100001000000100011000110100001 00000010011100110111101110111"
I went and googled a binary translator, and translated "Press Alt F4 Now"
What about "G1v3 m3 4lL uR 3cT0z"
"0100011100110001011101100011001100100000011011010 01100110010000000110100011011000100110000100000011 10101010100100010000000110011011000110101010000110 00001111010"
Heres the site: http://nickciske.com/tools/binary.php

Lol, I used to go with bots and let them farm me xp from trolls outside droks, so I could refresh my attributes (way back when). They didn't mind as long as I'd leave so they could grab my drops. Though they might not of been bots just gold farms, not really sure.
