Look, you don't like mesmer then dont use mesmer, noone here is forcing you to bloody use one. Fight fire with water all you want, some people just like to get rid of the O2 before the fire start.
Also agree with Yanman. Epic indeed.

Errrr personally I'm a mesmer fan ... however in pve I don't bring often a hero as a mesmer, I prefer human mesmer (except for interrupts of course they're really good at it), because henchies are really crap with em -_-.
But for completing GW : EN pve, I can say it, I just play monk with 2 mon henchies, 1 MM henchie, 1 Human SS, and just SF heroes ... why ? Because SS owns, MM got a good defense + good utility in fight, and because SF is still so much imba, SF pwns all in pve, even in pvp, this skill is really overpowered, that's retard.

There were 2 options for Gwen hinted in Pre-searing. She liked Warriors but preferred Mesmer armour... don't think she quite fits the bill for a Warrior and i NEVER use Warrior heroes unless i'm forced to... at least been a Mesmer i'd use her.

Or to trash the myth that is being kept alive by players who feel that mother nature gave them a too small of a penis:
The mesmer requires just as much skill to be played in PvE as any other class. I would be inclined to say that maybe even less. Just because the advanced tactics of the mesmer class simply don't work in PvE because of it's flawed design (PvE's NOT the mesmer's design that is!)
So if I were a mesmer player seeing all butterflies and roses - I'd seriously ask myself how good am I that I fail to see how incompatible the mesmer is with PvE. Because the most basic tactics really work in PvE - and if you don't see ANY issues then you are prolly still stuck there. At the basics.

Fixed.
I can play my Mesmer all I want, but I'll never be as effective in the team as another player of the same skill level playing a more pve-capable class. Your damage is worse, your interrupts aren't really better, your survivability and team support is worse... This doesn't mean Mesmers don't work, you can easily finish the game and any area with them. It just means they don't work as well.
I kinda think I need to link the PvE state of the mesmer article here, because evidently it hasn't been read recently.

I LOL'd mightily at the mere suggestion that an Elementalist or Necromancer takes just as much skill to play as a Mesmer anywhere. LOL indeed.
It's very, very easy to get a large effect on a battle with an Elementalist or Necromancers, it takes considerably more effort and thought to get as similar effect using a Mesmer. I also love how you think it's some vast conspiracy by Mesmers to make everyone think that the class takes a lot of skill to play effectively (that being the keyword) in PvE. Yes, we all have meetings and nametags!
The class isn't incompatible with PvE, it's incompatible with the Tank, Nuker, Heal mentality. I guess that's the ONLY tactic out there though, right? Yeah, no. Not everyone plays that way. Shocking, isn't it?

There's bunch of people who are having lots of problems with GW:EN content. Dungeons, quests being too hard, bosses impossible to kill....
I don't know, I always thought this level 20 content would, well, kinda hard, or at least hard-ish.
Then again, having 2 mesmers, 2 blood or curses necros and possibly a warder makes everything a breeze. Same goes for hard mode. Mesmers + necros over anything nuking related, even 3 or 4 SF nukers.
But playing holy trinity with a mesmer as decoration is indeed pointless.
Prices of mesmer runes are going up though, so perhaps people will learn the benefits.
I don't care, GW:EN finally rewards alternate builds, rather than just allow them. Everything is still doable with W/E/Mo, but that's on the lowest end of usability scale.

The only other profession she'd suit is an ele, and we've already got 3 current ele heroes (iirc, haven't bought EOTN yet so I'm not sure).
And because she's sexy

Please tell me which PvE usable mesmer skill takes much skill to be played?
Backfire = cast on casters.
Empathy, (and prolly one of the most godly skills in PvE ) Clumsiness = cast on pretty much everything since pretty much everything will attack.
Degen = uhmmm ... cast on everything?
Surge/Burn/CoP and other mesmer nukes = uhmm ... cast on everything?
Interrupts = most classes have interrupts so nothing superbly more difficult for the mesmer.
We have skill denial, energy denial - kinda doesn't work does it? Or just isn't worth it because most foes will die before the denial effect will show.
Seriously - what skills are causing you such problems that you need to invest so much more into making them work as a mesmer?
Btw - I LOVE this part and I felt it needed to be quoted again:

If that is true - why take a mesmer if it takes so much more for it to achieve the level that is easily achieved with a necro or the ele?
Especially if we consider that the average player of GW can't reach to the level that is needed to play the mesmer - because by your own words - it's much harder to play then other classes.
So - why risk it with a mesmer if there is a chance that the mesmer player you will get won't be able to stand up the challenge and if you get one that will get it right - they will only be as effective as an ele or necro?
NOW ... if my theory that the mesmer doesn't take much more skill to play then the ele would be true ....

........ real mature. Please, for the sake of people who like to read threads keep it to mesmers themselfs and SKILL levels instead of having a this person bash that person thread.... and BTW you are very right in my case seeing as I am a female.
Although I don't agree with the people who dislike/think mesmers are not effictive I was enjoying reading the banter back and forth until I start to see useless comments like this.
ETA: on your last post upier: Mesmer does take more work to achieve but the reason I like it is because it is hard... the other professions were very easy.. my mesmer was crap for the longest time until I had a better skill set and ability to play her. I'm proud of her. I dont start a game and try to decide what is the easiest way to go. I love the challenge.... keeps the game interesting.

Is there any point to this thread at all or are u admins and mods getting ur jolly's off on another mesmer bashing thread, if this was my forum i would delete this streaming Pile of dog crap u call a thread.
It has been proven Mesmers are elite for shutting down proffessions and with certain builds in PvP and PvE and screw the threads full of oen personall experience watch the damn movies on youtube.com, i did have a thread dedicated to this(you tube videos) but it was deleted and i was warned by a Mod if i posted it again i would be banned.
and whats even more retarded about people claiming mesmers sucking at PvE is that they can solo UnderWorld and Duo Tombs quicker then any other proffession and can put a 55hp monk or necro down quicker then any other proffession, and all u Elementalist fan's need to start ur own Ele worshipping thread, because i couldnt count how many times its been proven a Mesmer will drop an Elementalist in 10 seconds flat, even with the Best Ele build(or so claimed)....Searing Flames Ele, Lmao i seen 3 in AB get beaten by a single Mesmer, and i dont own a mesmer nore have i played one, but man have i studied each proffession countlessly, and as a warrior or Ranger or Necro or Monk or Ele i can honestly say i hate Versing a Mesmer but man i love henchie and hero mesmers.
P.S-The Mesmer best and quickest character for Pre-title "Legendary Defender Of Ascalon"

And 1 thing that really get up my nose from reading is the constant "you only need a Warrior, Monk, Ele and necro" if this is true why the hell do u need a ranger at the last part of fire islands, and why can a Mesmer Shut down Kephket to the point where Kephket can only attack with its wand???
Name any other proffession who can do that to Kephket!!!
