Honestly I love this change, seeing my Ranger strafing the land with his four fellow packhunters and their Dire white Tigers just made my day (and I am sure lots more to come)...
Yay for pets!

Hmm... I just compared two screenies of my lvl20 hearty white tiger pre & post update and it looks the same size to me.

Pet.. too.. big. To me anyway. I sort of prefer them scaled more proportionately to the character.

Thanks, I'll try later if I can get him to stand still.
I've never really understood why Jin's hyena is so massive compared to my luverly tiger... seems odd to me.
Oh and that Moa.... never mind Dwarves I think it's been at the Norn as well.!

I'm amazed that there are people that are actually unhappy with this change. Just goes to prove what they say about pleasing people...
Anyway, in response to Kerwyn Nasilan, I have a moa big enough to ride! Black moas are just wimps. ^_^
Behold, Redfeather as a baby, and an adult:
I feed him dwarves. ^_^

Holy crap! That thing is huge!

Lightbringer title and all its related skills did not work in DoA (it was broken in a previous update) - the enemy mobs were not recognized as demons or something, so Gaze gave 'invalid target' and you didn't get the damage buff. There were also a bunch of other DoA-related bugs, like Call to the Torment not creating a clone.

Nope. It's not a fake. ^_^
In the old picture, he's standing a bit behind me, so he wasn't quite that small to start with, but it's the best picture I have.
The new one accurately shows how big he is now, though.
Like I said, I feed him on a steady diet of dwarves. They're full of nutrients, and the crunchy armor keeps his beak sharp.

I think pets captured before X date weren't re-scaled correctly, like the limitation to Hard Mode if you beat GW:EN prior to September something. Maybe the mods will look into it.

The other question is, is it a Moa Bird or a Strider?

I think its just a visual illusion. Because (I assume) the ranger posted in that ss is scaled to be the shortest size possible, the moa seems overly large from that viewpoint and in comparison. I could be wrong though and the ranger posted could be the average height that a female ranger can obtain.
Nevertheless, it gets quite big.

Was there a change to Prot Spirit or other 55 skills? Suddenly a group of 8 (max 44 damage @ 5.5 each...) can kill my 55 necro instantly & every time, even though they never could before.
. . .

I'm proud to say he's a Strider, which, I hear, might make a difference to the size, although I've not seen that confirmed.

No, it's really not an illusion.
I'm not a huge ranger, but I'm not one of those little mini-people you see running around under everyone's feet, either.
I'm a little under average height, but max height guys are often heard to exclaim "My God that thing is huge!!" when I take him into PvP.
Somewhere I have a screenshot of a friend of mine taming his black moa, and Redfeather is about half again as big as the black. I took the shot just as my friend is saying, "I wish my bird was that big." heheh
I'll never get rid of him, because I'm worried there's some kind of unique magic that makes him, in particular, so big. ^_^
