I say it's friendly competitiveness ^_^. At least when I say suxons or kurdicks I'm just joking around. I think at the moment, I'm proud to be a suxon, just because I have more luxon faction towards my title than kurzick, lol.

Isn't it just another form of soccer hooliganism?
Anyway kids are taught to do it at school. Yay Green Team! Red Team Sux!
It's generally considered gentlemanly, though, to be sporting about it.
You didn't see the South Africans laughing and pointing at the English shouting "n00b!" on Sunday.
Nor did you see the English shouting "Boks Suks".
Not publicly, anyway.

I don't think the players are entirely to blame for this. They are playing characters in a story in which the two sides hate each other vehemently. They call GW a role-playing game. So you can't blame players for acting out and role-playing the hate between Luxons and Kurzicks that the game itself promotes very heavily.

Very good point. Now I need to get a game where everyone is all lovey dovey and sit around the town all day hugging.
Die Kurzicks.

If you'd paid attention to the "quality" of language being used by the gimps in the Alliance Battle waiting areas..... and compare it to the cultures of the two sides as represented in-game by the NPCs.... I guarantee you would see a stark contrast (or at least on the Kurzick side you would).
They're not roleplaying.... or if they were then they are doing a disservice to their people.

Very true. The gamers who taunt each other are more like playing roles in South Park than GW Factions.

I dunno Soti, I've been able to sit in the AB areas waiting for the battle to start adn talk about politics, religion, and many other things.
Not every person in AB is going to be a raging chest thumper 12 year old who totally pwns at being teh best.
Not everyone is going to be a well mannered person.
Kind of like real life eh?
Plus you think this is bad? Go to Wisconsin during the football season and wear a NON green (non Greenbay) jersey, and watch what happens when you step into a bar on a sunday. You MAY walk out with your life, but doubtful you'll be able to drive until you change that tire.
Competition breeds more competition, and the animosity there in. This happens in all things, sports, school, heck even some childrens lives.
I think in the end that people need to chill out some, but ti's not a perfect world. unfortunately. So I continue to do what I do best.. have fun, if that means that I need to tell the person on either side that 1 v 1 is just a silly little idea that doesn't really help anything in the end, then so be it. But mainly I just shush now and mutter to someone in whispers (friends list) or guild that i just got owned by a sin (or in my case a trio of them)

After playing through Gyala Hatchery, I just came to dislike Luxons because they were prepared to kill their Kurzick captives and needed to be convinced to join forces, whereas in The Eternal Grove the Kurzicks joined forces with the Luxons without (significant) hesitation.
I favour the Kurzicks because they seem to be more reasonable and peaceful to me.
