All that was need to be done was:

Get to Eye of the North
Go and Do HoS (was done with someone who already beat the game)
Do Destruction Depths, which got you to Central Transfer Chamber
Beat Great Destroyer

It has been fixed now as you cannot go into the battle with the Great Destroyer, but you can still get as far as the Central Transfer Chamber!

And Hello Gaile!

Personaly i think once you have completed the game on (Atleast) (1) character this was a good thing, i can't see how it hurt anyone?
Either way we still have got to go and do all the other quests and stuff at some point anyway so it makes no difference i suppose

Well you paid for your own copy so play it how 'you' like to. No one is standing behind your back hitting buttons for ya man. Sure they probably didn't intend that but so what? Affects other people 0%, next !

Sorry But WRONG. I did it tonight with my last character the rit and did it with no problem Eye to Green key in 1hr 30 mins. Not my record but I was playing with a group of Pugs.

And now, All my comments on this process have been removed from this thread. I just do not care anymore.

I'm sick of being told one thing then they say wait WHAT? oh no no no.. This did NOTHING unfair or unjust. If I wanted a character to have access to all dungeons and not have to deal with the grind more then once so I don't need the skills I have no interest in, Its no different then playing the kurzick side and ignoring the luxon side of the game and going straight to the end. Its no different then getting a run for droknars forge, or no different from getting a taxi to elite missions, or taxi to docks in NF. Or more importantly, Finishing the game on the account and getting access to HM on all lev 20s after that. Point is this will Always be possible as long as the books come with Against the Destroyers completed on it by default once you have done it once on your account. Its become hypocrisy, and I want nothing more to do with it. Case closed.

PS: OK more rant here cause I'm a bit pissed off that NOW they are thinking of nerfing this and want to know how to do it. This is 100% harmless and does not give people unfair advantage indeed it actually locks you out of 1 critical PvE skill unless you go with a buddy again when they are about to get it. It basically allows you to get access to content that you have unlocked on your account, and unless you WANT to grind out the titles you get nothing in the form of PvE skills or titles. Nor would a player using this give a flying fig about HoM in any form, as its unneeded and inconsequential for non-primary characters, Especially if you plan on NOT getting GW2. So the tapestries don't matter.

I have taken 11 of 12 of my characters through in this way and basically moved on to better things now. I have also took many guildies and allies though in the same way, so they too have the advantage of skipping the grind when PvE skill content is unwanted and undesired.

In all reality I know how to get this to stop but I will not tell the programmers how to do their job. Add to that the code would make a lot of people very upset in that all the sudden primaries are not only not repeatable, but suddenly will become unable to appear in the books automatically when remade. Thus making books useless for repeatable rewards. Which in my opinion is the way it should have been from the beginning. 1 book 1 reward Done... never again to happen on that character. Just saying. If they would have made it that the book was turned in for access to armor then prob solved, and 0 grind for titles required. if you wanted armor you filled in a book and turn it in, if not, you trashed the book, and played the game where ever you want.

Anet's phylosophy: you can play the game like you want to.

The game mechanics allow it, so it's NOT a cheat, it's thinking out of the box and such behaviour should deserve more respect cause normal is only normal and nothing more.

Why do so many people refer to this as "beating the game"? I'd call it circumventing the game. [I wasn't trying to single Valeria out here, it's just that this post made me thing about it.]

it was never a beating teh game route. it was avoid what you do not want to do route...

Now I did get an PM about this apologizing for the misleading information. The problem Anet had was not that AtfH was completable early, but that people were able to power grind a character and get it rushed into the end for a End game key. and then turn around and sell that for uber gold. Rinse and repeat. I guess that was what was happening for some players 4 or 5 times a day using this this method, And they were in turn selling the keys for upwards of 30k each or more, So it had to stop. So basically the Few were abusing the system, and because of it the many are punished. Its a shame, but ultimatly if it was being abused as he said, then I can accept this as a good reason for the change.

They were good enough to allow anyone that had a book prior to the nerf to still be able to do it. But after that book is filled in and you attain another one its no longer possible. Luckily I had all my characters over there already with their original books, so I was able to do it after the so called nerf. But I took a guy through today and it is no longer possible with new books.

Its a bit upsetting yes, but ultimately this was for the better. I agree under the circumstances. Its good that they at least let you go to CTC still. so that's cool. For the record the change is now on the Destruction Depths prereq. It no longer looks at the account flag, but the character flag. As it should have been I guess. I'm just glad I had the opportunity to get them all through, and now I do not have to bother with it now, on characters I hardly ever play...
