Well, I'm from Belgium and I have no problems with anything of it.
I paid with Visa (Visa costs about 20 € per year, not 30 € per month!).
If you don't have Visa maybe you can ask your dad or girlfriend who has one.
And concerning the language it is no real issue because we speak 4 languages.
A lot of others European countries don't have stuff in their language either.
The start hour of an event is also no big deal as we all have 24 hours in a day.

I'm a bit confused here.. I'm in Australia, and shouldn't we complain that most weekend events carry into our Monday and that means taking a sicky to enjoy the event? If Europe, who are about 12 hours behind us are complaining about getting a shorter event because of that.. least you guys get it saturday/sunday not sunday/monday
Yeah, too tired to make sense or want to make sense.
Also, someone very smart (NC Soft) decided that Australia/New Zealand is part of Europe, though Australia pays in pounds and NZ in Euro.. and why is the UK still using Pounds anyway??

Because its our currency, it's stronger than the Euro and the majority of the brittish public doesn't want to change over.

Because we're a bunch of traditionalists.... and our currency pwnz their currency. Why did the rest of Europe change to use the Euro?

Wow.. this complaint is like..
"waaaat!!!! Anet is starting the event 12pm PST! They don't care about those in EST!!! baawwww!!!"
It's not like the end of the world if you don't make the beginning of the event. Remember that the mad king comes every 6 hours?
Anet is an American company. Wait, so it's not true that Europeans hate Americans?
Go whine to NCSoft, not Anet.

Actually, I used to have a Visa card some years ago. It didn't take money directly out of my bank account. It worked as a revolving credit with a limit I could set myself, and I got monthly bills with quite a steep interest. It got flagged when I applied for a mortgage when I bought my first house. Since I only used it for very infrequent online purchases, I ditched it. I never had any kind of need for one since then. (Except to spend a teensy tiny amount in the terribly limited ANet online store.)
If Visa has different kinds of cards over here, they're woefully inept at marketing them, because despite living over here for my entire life, I never heard of it.

Wait, what? We eliminated the need for a costly, fraud-prone 1950s payment system and we are the ones behind the times? Dream on.

I'm thinking the complaint is less focused on the timing of events and more focused on the inability to buy products via the in-game store, and thus being denied the Bonus Mission Pack.
That said.... I'm denied an awful lot of really awesome games because they're not released outside of Japan, or simply not released in Europe (and my consoles can't play import games).... but it isn't as though I feel I have some innate right to have them.

This is funny.
I want a luxemburgish district! Now! A-net doesn't care about the 30-ish luxemburgish GuildWars players (half of which I probably know personnally )! Add luxemburgish translations!
That district would be awesome to meet your friends though. There's a big chance it would be empty. Always.

isamu kurosawa; SotiCoto.. thanks
I guess trying to convince the UK that being part of the EU might include changing currency to Euro is like convincing the US that measuring distance in metres rather than feet and miles is a good idea...
I certainly felt like we were still an English colony when I was faced with having to pay for my online purchase in pounds. (btw, we still have the English queen as head of state, so I guess that still makes us an English colony)

Speak for yourself. I personally can take it very well, have nothing to tell Anet and don't feel like I am pushed away.

All the people that speak Dutch in the game are either young players or childish morans. I have yet to meet an intelligent dutch player.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate dutch, heck I'm dutch myself.
I just seems to run into a lot of retards that's all.

Interesting, all the dutch players i've met in game are some of the nicest players i know, I have quite a few in my guild.
odd thing is, every dutch person i know plays monk primary and not for the farming possibilities.

Last I checked, Canadian Dollars have our Queen on the back too.
She sure is a popular old lass.
Does that make Canada one of our colonies too?

Because Anet is the Community for GuildWars, as like NCsoft would even set a foot on this forum?
Gaile is from Anet so i was hoping she would read this Forum and then would go to NCsoft with this story ...

The card he is referring to is a VISA CHECK CARD not a Visa card, they are two different things. Yes Visa's are expensive in the Netherlands and yes they are behind the times, their banking system SUCKS! Yes I can say that, I live here as well.
The Visa Check card is NOT a traditional Visa that is the point you are missing. Visa Check Cards are not issued by Visa they are issued by your BANK! It is a debit card which carries the Visa LOGO for accessibility purposes without the drawbacks of a traditional credit card.
It is the banks that are woefully inept for not offering them in the first place, not Visa as they don't come from Visa. As far as not wanting your money, its more likely not worth the headache for the amount it would generate.

If you want to know how its been here in the Netherlands?
They want to take the money away from Students, they have to take a loan, and when they finish school they need to pay the money back!
How its been now at this moment is that kids older then eighteen get money to go to school, its not much, but you can buy schoolstuff from the money!
And they want to take the money away to pay teachers from it!
So thats going on, in the dutch society, so do you think they will add visacards on your bank system?

Erm.... the UK has student loans too (that are supposed to be interest-free, but then they start charging interest on it when you start paying it back, so it never ends).... and we use our Debit Cards (or "Maestro" these days) to pay for stuff online just fine.
Just because the government want to cheat you out of other stuff doesn't mean that bank cards are totally out of the question.
