Yeah, they are doing auto UAX for PvP in GW2.
I think that's why PVP packs were made in the first place. So that people only interested in PVP only had to buy a PVP pack and not a campaign + unlocking all the skills.
If they added it to GW1 PVE campaign packs people who already bought unlocks would go ballistic.

They probably realized they could increase revenue by reducing the price of PvP access/unlocks and increase the rapidly-declining PvP playerbase at the same time. This move should've been made a long time ago and might be implemented too late to save this game.

Of course, if their actual intention isn't to reduce the price of PvP access, then competitive GW might as well be dead.

Too bad that cheap unlock packs aren't going to help the PvP playerbase any, unless there suddenly is a serious reason to get into the game. Which I really doubt will happen. So to me it sounds like something PvE-players buy to unlock all skills for their heroes, while it won't have any use for PvP-players.

You'll be able to buy them through the PlayNC store and create an account there...

Once the account is made, it will also offer the client for download there too

I own GW and was able to purchase a pvp based on a campaign already.

Now... if it's stuff you buy "unlock" on your character I'm going to be a bet miffed - I've bought 2 or the 3 pvp campaign packs.

I wonder if it's going to be buy a "warrior" pack that unlocks for all 3 campaigns (just for war for example).

Well, I'll repeat what I said earlier just in case it got lost:

I would only buy a Skill Unlock if it unlocked skills for my PvE character as well. And, no, it would not be "unfair" as we already have Tomes for players to get skills anyway! (if you can find them, of course.)

This will just let people who don't farm hardmode have the same access to skills as their Heros!

And with 1300 skills in the game (not counting elites costing 3k bathazar faction) that comes too.... 1.3 million gold. There is a reason PvP packs sell (so people who don't like to PvE and get money in game can play).

Oh man, okay, I just saw this thread. My husband is going to be so disappointed, he had to wait until this week to buy a PvP unlock pack to get the BMP (thank you, expensive broken water main...).

I wish they would have waited until AFTER the BMP promotion to pull them.

Elinora, I totally understand what you're saying, and was a little surprised at the timing myself. I hope that it will work out for you guys, as I know you're a long-time player.

As a general comment, I will let the marketing team know of your concerns. I think what happened is, we thought we'd pull them and a few days later have an alternative (at an attractive price). So we did the first part, but there was a delay in the second part.

Worst case he gets enough character slots to last him until 2012 since he has everything else. :: cackle :: I appreciate the reply!

Maybe next time putting some kind of warning like "they'll be removed on such and such a date" on the login screen when a big change like that is done to the store would be a way to go. I know I'm not the only one who figured "oh rockin' PvP unlock pack, Bonus Mission Pack, hero and/or PvP skills out the butt, yeah sign me up baby yeah!"

It would be really neat-o I admit for those PvP options to come out on the 31st though. :: eyebrow waggle :: I would totally bring you guys fudge.

Erm wait I'd probably do that anyway. Shoot.
