Players are becoming more and more lazy, it's sad. I'm very grateful, as I was explaining in my uber-long post, and I ENJOY working for whatever I want to afford. Makes it all worthwhile. Between working a week to get something, and 3 months... I don't care. I'll be happy anyways - I'll have WORKED for it. And that's what matters to me.
As I was saying in another thread... is there anyone who actually ENJOYS a challenge anymore?

Agree. So many "I want it now give it to me" threads popping up. I think I'll go hide in the closet and cry for a while.

My Dervish, which I made yesterday, has 12k in her inventory right now, and JUST got done with blacktide den. I pulled nothing out of existing funds in storage either.
No farming, just doing the quests, killing stuff for sunspear points, and leveling up Sousuke and Tahlkora.

Run missions, farm, power trading ... ... Scam, beg, watever
Many have became rich, I don't see why OP is complaining.
I haven been trading or running missions for some time. When i want new stuffs, i just sell off some of my items to generate funds
So the bottomline is, spend only what you have... if you want more, work for it

With Hard Mode eye of the North around I never found making money easyer.
If I'm in need of some gold I do HM Murakai runs (cathedral of flames). Takes only like 30min and if you get lucky like me yesterday you get 2 onyx gems + 1.5k from quest reward + like 2-3k from merchanting stuff.

Wait what? Its hard to make gold in game? There are so many ways to make gold that loot scaling hardly matters. Go do Slaver's Exile for a week. Heck clear areas in hard mode. Most people with major money (over 10 million) either: ebayed it (and still do it from online shops, you know who you are), power traded, ran bots, scamming, running missions, or farmed night and day for weeks. If you want it, eventually you'll do whatever it takes to get it.

Hehe, it's so funny.
I could have absolutely tons of money, even a mini panda. But I spend it on useless stuff.
Lesson here:
DON'T BE LIKE ME! :P
Well, the buying bit :P

I know this guy. He spent his fortune on fast Yaks, loose female Eles and Booze. Now he's homeless and living on the street of LA. If anyone see a scruffy but handsome Paragon wearing an ancient armor with a sign that say "Will shout for an ecto".
Please give him one or two, remember he was once just like you.

Just do Wurm SS/LB farming runs, you easily make 3K+ in under 5-8 mins.

I think the Opp refers to the drop rates and not making gold by trading. I read another thread this week explaining that when you kill creatures 1 by 1 you find more gold and stuff than when you kill the whole group at once. It's these little things that make casual players feel lost in this game. You need to figure out all kinds of tricks for making money. Playing the game like an rpg does not give any profit at all. But that's the way so many players liked to play. I don't see many of them around anymore...

You doing something wrong, if that's what you mean. A SS/LB run takes 15 mins max in a 5 man team. You can do about 4-8 of them in a hour easily.
In gold alone its 1-3K, take gold drops and other junk sell into account its easy money.
Plus you get SS/LB points at the same time as a bonus.

I have barely noticed the effects of loot scaling, I think A-Net could have implemented it and I wouldn't have even noticed. If and when I farm, I find I have no problem making money. Last weekend through Wednesday especially was a good time to get money just by selling/trading Halloween items. I made about 20k doing that and had I not wanted to trade my emblems in for alcohol I could have easily made between 15-25k for a stack. All it took was getting a 55 monk and farming behind the house in Gates of Kryta on normal mode. I would get anywhere from about 1-6 Orr Emblems and 1-5 Trick-or-Treat Bags, some creatures would even drop both at the same time. I don't find farming particularly as fun as I used to, but I won't go into that for the sake of keeping my head in tact. I had all these crappy golds in my storage that were just wasting space because I didn't have the heart to merch them. I sold them off for 2k each, cleaned out most of my storage in terms of duplicates of crafting materials and I made over 150k. I bought a mini Kuunavang and that brought me back down to around 20k and now I'm hovering around 20k since the weekend (after that point, I bought lockpicks). People will buy even crappy inscribable weapons for a couple k and you'll get rid of them quickly that way because people will be happy to see they're getting such a good deal.
