As sort of a corollary to the "OMG! not another one" thread, I thought I'd ask about those drops you rarely get.

For me, it would have to be Guardian Mosses.

When Factions came out and I made a 'sin, I was excited to come across the collector in Pongmei Valley (by the gate to Boreas) offering 15^50 daggers in exchange for 2 Mosses. How hard could that be to get? The fact that he only wanted 2, rather than the standard 5, should have been the tip-off.

Well, to date, I have gotten a grand total (including the two I eventually traded for the daggers) of eleven. I've actually gotten (several) more black dyes than I have these Mosses.

What's your elusive drop?

a Kirin Horn , i got it from a jade torn Kirin while doing a Luxon FFF at jade arenas .. lol and it was the 1st time i saw the jade torn kirin

Actually, I've been players 19 months and only ever got 1 black dye (in Sacnoth Valley) which I very unlucky.
And I've never got a super vigor rune, ever

Stone carvings. I've gotten more green drops from the bosses than stone carvings from the mob he's with.

Tough one.

I've got enough cash to not need to worry about something not dropping. If I wanted destroyer cores, I'd just offer a highly inflated price and have all I need within an hour.

Only item I've ever really farmed is shards, mainly because everyone sells to the merchant, so trying to find people selling more then a few at a time is a bastard. In the end (after hours of WTB) I just made the merchant richer.

ANYTHING that's new from gwen, Just to think when I opened Duncan's Chest in slaver's exile I got A BLAZING WIND WAND!!! very pro, I think it would be about time something drops thats nice and worth something

DarkGanni, my first 3 green items that dropped for me (including Duncan's Chest), were Soul Reaping-attributed. I do not have a necro. So far, no other greens have dropped (though I got Kerrsh's Staff through some quests)

Aaaaaanyways, my unlucky items would be... bricks of mud, and clay bricks ... never had them drop for me

In the grand scope of things, I would say Obsidian Shards. Don't get me wrong, I've only been to FoW a total of 5 times, but 2 of those 5 trips were spent clearing it (got bored, never went back). Never got a single shard, period. Meanwhile, a friend of mine went with us on one of those clearing trips and got 5. Go fig.

until GWEN came out I've never had a green, been playing for 14 months, although now with GWEN i've gotten 38 greens (nonweekend)

^^ Soulless - lol, ya, that would be my 2nd pick; I needed 5 for some off-hand or other and it took me forever (well, several days) to get them.

^^ kazjun - I hear that; I have less than 20 of those, same with moon shells and a couple of others. Warden Horns, on the other hand - 3 stacks.

Azure Crests would have to be up there for me, along with Truffles.

But really, if there's a collector who has something you want, Sod's Law states that your chances of obtaining the required drop will fall drastically.

Zho book!

For me the funny thing is that I always get drops that I don't need or I have no use for them, especially materials for collectors items!
Destroyer cores, I always get some and the chests give me items that require 13 with absurd attributes when they are not purple!
Lastly I get gold hammers most of the time........! I should make a hammer warrior. :P
I would really like to get a good item...... at least once!

lol heh i spent about 2k trying to get Zho's Book, before it was available, i met her in virtually every tournament, and i played a lot, as soon as i needed it didnt get her for love nor money, since she eventually turned up she has reverted to being in every tournament again that i do.

personnaly i woudl say a rare drop for me is Amber, i havent had one piece drop for me, but i have had loads of jade drop.

I've been to muck about in the underword about 4 times and had two ecto's drop without even gettign anywhere lol. and i have had about 10 shards drop in FoW, only been there about 4 times too, so these arent rare drops for me,

Black dye i must have had about 20 since starting 17 months ago, superior vigors are about 4 drops

i've had two platinum longbows, a celestial sword, a platinum wand, and the odd other rarish skin but never one with perfect attributes

one day i will get my monk to survivor level 3 and actually start to farm for decent weapons and drops but not yet lol
