Unfortunately, too many people have extreme ideas of what is good or bad. For example, several people have mentioned wanting to kick someone for bringing Healing Breeze. Well, HB may not be the "best" skill to take, but it's not really all that bad either - kicking someone for bringing HB would be the height of "skill-nazism". Sometimes, when someone asks me to ping my skill bar, I'll stick HB in it somewhere just to see their reaction - if they get all twisted up, chances are I wouldn't want to go with them anyway.

The funniest time was when a member of a group, who must have been a self-proclaimed "leader", insisted I ping my build "now!". I was in the middle of changing my build at the time, so when I pinged it, it made no sense. I let him sputter and fume for a while before I told him.

Anyhow, in answer to the OP question, I think the advantages of pinging builds outweigh the negatives. I like it.

Also i NEVER Ping my build. if they demand it when some pug is with i'll leave by myself. I have nothing to hide in them but don't go demanding a build when they do threaten to kick you if you don't.
