I Absolutely Hate the Solo Quests
Please why did they just not save the solo quests for festivals. I like the synergy of multi character parties, not this junk.

Guessing you mean the eye of the north ones as no one cam complain tihark is too difficult.
well, it fits in with the storyline and the norn belief system, they fight with their own strength and to prove yourself so do you. The only one thats in anyway difficult is the cold as ice quest on a few professions.

Can you be a little more specific ~ What solo quests, where? and why does it suck? Personaly i think its kind of cool. You are synergizing though.. just with 8 skills instead of multiple bars.

The problem is they may work better for one profession versus another. Also the lack of skills in other professions causes you to have to go and buy extra generally useless skills for your character. The comment for the necro to beat Magni Bison is play it like a ritualist. Well my ritualist did beat him first time but my necro, dervish and monk do not cope well.

Just make yourself a curse necro 2ndary and run SS and Parasite and it will be over within a few seconds.

Assuming that I want to go or am able to go and cap an SS and buy the added skills.
You should be able to defeat everyone using your primary profession or else it is just a spurious quest.
I have no problem with people going solo farming if they want to. I find the solo quests in Eye of the North specifically to be hateful and possibly stupid.

I hated the bison thing with my warrior. He was the only character I did it with just to get all the heroes. A guildy gave me the skill bar to do it after about 10 tries and me yelling I hate this game.
I also hate the polymock crap. The only way I was able to get past the 3rd guy was with a ruby djinn. I'm not trying it with any other of my characters either. I went from 2000 health down to nothing a few times all from 1 hit. That game got me mad enough to put some knuckle indents in my wall(This was before my ruby djinn), I hadn't gotten tha mad at a game in a long time...thanks anet...

This might be putting it bluntly...
but you want them to Nerf the game because you cant do a bit of it right?
ANY profession can complete the solo missions, If your unwilling to use your 2nd profession then its your fault - perhaps i should complain I cant be shiro because i don't like using weapons?
if your not using all the tool avalible...well thats not Anets fault is it?
beside most prime professions can do the solo missions with the right build (exception being monks perhaps, but even they can do it if built well)

It is perfectly possible to beat Magni with any profession. I beat Magni as a monk primary, using only monk skills. Just change your skillbar with enough offense as well as defense till it works. Easy.

Then you are doing it wrong, again it's perfectly possible to complete the whole Polymock tournament by just using the pieces you get.
Tips: Use your big damage spell first - Cast the block thing - Cast glyph of concentration - cast your other big spell - spam block whenever ready and spam your spells. Again, easy.
Also, Hoff was not hard enough.

Well there you're just making it harder for yourself. I found the tournament both fun and easy on a monk, though I didnt choose to limit myself to a pure monk bar. Using only monk skills it would have been possible too, but I saw no reason to limit myself to just that. Using either direction, for a quest as specific as this, you might need to go buy a monk skill if using an all-monk bar or a skill from a different profession anyway - so choose the one that simply works best for you.

I found the solo quests to be a refreshing change- and I'm a Necro primary. Sure, some of them were downright frustrating, but having to *think* about how to beat them instead of just being able to use cookie cutters is what made them rewarding.

I simply loved Tihark (lol) and enjoyed these for the same reason. I just sat down and thought out an approach. Didnt need to go to Plan B (whatever that would have been) but I wouldnt have minded it if I did.
Edit: Love Tihark so much I chose it as the mission that got me Legendary Guardian. Woo for Tihark!

When I read trough this thread my general impression is that the quests in itself contain a riddle to solve: find the build to beat it! Now I love to play solo myself in various games. Because of the freedom it provides to do the things you like, on your own way. To have fun in soloing its necessary to have several solutions for a problem. Otherwise it becomes a time consuming quest to find out the circumstances leading to success.
I guess it has to do with the unique nature of this game, where finding out skill combinations is being encouraged, and using cookie cutter builds is being dis encouraged. Yet I recognize lots of players prefer to adventure in a preset environment, where they can work out their favourite build to maximum effectiveness. I think this is something to work on for Anet.

While I personally love the solo quests they are a bit out of ballance for some proffesions.
That being said, aside from the first Man-o-Norn quest the rest can be skipped with 0 effect on your ablity to play through the game. The skill rewarded for those quests tend to be usable to prophs can win easily.
I would be rather worried about seeing a monk in my party useing Finish Him!

That's odd, I absolutely love the solo quests.
Don't want to be a spirit spammer to beat Magni? Then come up with your own build, you lazy hack.

You complain you don't want to go /Rt on your chars and buy the extra skills. You then complain that you have to cap SS on your necro? Why wouldn't your char have all it's primary skills unlocked?
If every char could beat everything without 1 secondary skill on their bar.. then all synergy just goes out the window.

I'm pretty sure it's very possible to beat Magni without a secondary on every profession.
