LOL... Thanks.
I wonder how the subject of the painting would feel about being compared to Freddie Mercury. You know, now that you mention it, I think FM would have been just devastating if he'd had pale blue eyes as well.

There's nothing challenging about it whatsoever. It's all time. Some have more time than others

Not hard, just tedious. I haven't known someone who's able to look at an incomplete map *without referance* and say "Whoop, there's the spot!"

First, gl running through an area it's a pain in the ass. It's faster to just get a good hero/hench team and raise hell. Second, about Aimbot, no. A more accurate description is if the carto mod did all the moving for you. It doesn't.

You do say one thing that's valid; using Texmod does reduce the amount of tedious, repetitive effort required. I know. I've done Canthan GMC with no mod, and Tyrian with the mod. (Look out, Elona, here I come! ^_^)
The thing is, the mod doesn't actually make anything easier. I will find those last few areas. I will do it by comparing maps, because I'm not a total idiot. I won't give up until I'm finished.
A better in-game map doesn't change any of that.
The hard part (if there is one) is actually going to the areas and mapping them. The difficulty in finding those areas is, in my opinion, an accidental side effect of an interface that was never designed to support serious exploration.
Bryant Again is absolutely right. It's not practical to use a running build to map. You're sure to get caught in some tiny corner, or miss a spot while evading monsters, and if you're lucky enough to avoid that, the teensiest bit of lag will cause the server not to recognize that you just shot by that part of the map, and you might as well have stayed home.
If you could use a running build to map, you could do the same thing without Texmod.
Yes, it may be faster to get a cartographer title these days, but any extra time I spent doing it the old way is not something that I feel is worth bragging about. It was pathetic, really.
They may not be worth a darned thing to a lot of people, but my GMC titles aren't worth any less because people now have a better map interface.

He had a change of heart and even made the sensible suggestion to add this mod into the game so that all could benefit...

Amen.
And also it's a great mod, I'm using it for EotN, which doesn't have the benefit of a % track in your titles (it's included in Master of the North for those who don't know) so it's even more useful there.

Yep, if anyone's to blame for keeping this thread alive, it's "we will look into it" Gaile..

Gaile leaped to the defense of the original poster -- who then later change dhis mind. But Gaile is now off on her crusade to save people from having fun by raising the "issue" with her boss...
Thanks god a mini-pet or hat isn't at risk...
Gaile could end this all easily with a SIMPLE and DIRCET statement. Not a long diatribe with sarcastic comments like she's prone to these days, but a CLEAR STATEMENT of what ANet's intentions are in regard to Texmod.

They've already done that.
Please don't make me run a search for you.
Official acceptance is the only reason I'd ever touch the thing.

I THINK IT IS CHEATING.
Most people who reply to this forum are going to be biased thinking thinking that it's a benefit and it helped them get that last 2%. Well you know what, then you did something wrong, skipped something, didn't properly scrape EVERYTHING, etc, TOUGH!
I received my max cartographer titles the hard way... scrape scrape scrape... I even did Prophecies and Factions before the advent of heroes and being able to place your heroes/henchies somewhere with flag. Do people realize hard it was doing it with dumb AI henchies before.
It makes me sick that the cartography titles can be gained so easily now, where before it actually meant something having that title.

I think of it this way, a game is new at say $50, then it drops to $20. Cartography was really hard before (just like games being expensive), and now it's less work ( like a game being less money).
If that makes sense

There was no difficulty in the title before the mod was invented. Now it just takes slightly less amount of time and isn't as aggravating.

In my view the in-game map was never designed for cartography titles, texmod is what the maps should have been updated to by ANet when these titles were introduced. Please don't try and kid yourself that staring at a blank wall and strafing requires any skill or holds any meaning.

Doing less work to get the same thing is awesome. You can feel unfair all you want, but uhh... let's put it this way:
When people see your Legendary Cartographer, they don't go "WOWZ HE'S SO LEETX0RZ!" They go "Wow he spent a lot of time in a video game >_>"
There is no worth to titles.
Since you like to QQ much, you should go complain about Legendary Guardian and say: "OMG, some ppl can just get other people to run them through the missions, that is completely not fair!" You should try it and see how many people actually care.
