lol, sorry, I think you are confusing me with the poster I replied to. He was complaining about not having a credit card where he lived. I have many credit cards and a labeled debit card. i used one of them to qualify for the BMP, which I have now. I agree with everything you said. I just think it needs to be directed to the guy I quoted..

Do you just read the advertisement, watch a picture and immediately spend your money without even visiting it?
So after seeing that they managed to improve on a campaign based (presumably) on negative customer feedback you then decide not to buy (I use the term "buy" loosely, as it came free if you bought something up to a specific value) something as it will then be a failure? Don't see your logic there, I'm afraid. If you'd put "GW:EN" instead of "Factions" perhaps I would. But you didn't.

Personally, I've never considered factions a failure, I enjoyed it immensely, and still do.

Theres a vast difference between being choosing to get something in the hope of getting something else with it for free (even if it means getting something that is not needed) and not being able to make that choice.

I can choose to travel by first class on an airlines and really I am paying for the comfort that comes with it, however there might be additional features that I may not even use or need (such as laptop charger etc). But then again, everyone has the choice of being able to book first class.

No no, I wasn't directing it at you. As I said "People are retarded", not you. It was a broad generalized statement, although looking back, I could see where you got the idea it was pointed at you, I apologize.

Not to rain on your parade or anything, but..... nevermind, pardon me while I vomit thanks to this thread of +7 to retardation. Reading through this thread has caused me to lose more brain cells then binge drinking through college ever could have. Thanks for lowering my IQ and being LAZY. Well EoTN was for you what Factions was for me (and not only for me).

This doesn't change the concept, every buyer wants to check what he/she is spending money for, unless he/she gives absolutely no value to money or is a complete dumb that buys everything he/she sees.

lol, no worries I knew it wasn't directed at me (unless by mistake). Again you hit the target on the mark and I got a laugh when I realized you were referring to the other people. I figured I would reply though in case someone else decided to chime in...

Well, I can understand that the pertinence of this example is a direct result of this:

If this thread makes you so sick as to vomit please do yourself a favour and don't bother reading or replying, its bad for your health. You wouldn't want to drop out of college due to retardation caused by others and your brain ceasing to function altogether. First time I heard of a thread causing health a health hazard. (nothing personal of course).

Congratulations Rahja on being the 1000th Retard to post in this thread.

You dont understand what alot of people are saying because your not stupid I know you well enough to know that, your ignorant.

People who bought GW:EN had two choice, online or in store, I prefer instore, its personal choice and why should'nt it be? I'm giving both money to Anet, the store and my goverment which I have no problem with. Then im not allowed access to extra content to a game I've played for a while because I didnt buy it in the way they wanted me too? Theres billions of other situations where you could say 'THATS LIFE' but in the case where theres many loyal customers who can be easily contacted by Anet then its different, especcialy when youve already given them some of your money.
I could of got a credit card to buy extra character slots, why? The main focus of the game now is to complete one character with all titles is it not? Why do I need more than 8 or 9 slots.

I guess your just another person who doesnt read other peoples responses and would rather just come and declare its the new age and everyone should go virtual, I have no problems with walking to the store to buy stuff so why should'nt I get access to extra content?

Oh, the good news is, I am already out of university. The bad news is, people are just LAZY and can't live with their mistakes, so they want ANET to kiss their boo boos and make it all "rainbow sunshine yeh goodies for the unicorns in the magic meadows" happy for them. You snooze, you lose. There is NO EXCUSE for US citizens to be complaining they couldn't get the BMP.

Security issues, what security issues. Again, call me.

No Credit Card! Use a debit card noob.

No Debit card! Open a checking account with a bank that has more then 1 location. GG

Too young! Ask mom to take you to the mall and get a prepaid Visa.

Parents are mean and won't let me. Get another relative/friend.

No one will take me! Take the bus.

No public transportation. Go emo young, your screwed (and are probably under 13 anyways, so you shouldn't be playing according to the ESRB)

No excuses except your own. Cheese with your whine? Riverside isn't your pity pot. This is old.

I am far from retarded. Care to test my waters? You will drown.

As I stated, I am all for them selling it, for 30 USD. But, oh no! That is too much for so little. Whoops... didn't catch that did you?

@ The WOrld Map above... I said the US people. You euro people should have the option if payment methods that are readily available were not presented to you. That is only fair.

Perhaps I didn't make my point clear enough.

Eye of the North wasn't a failure for me at all, far from it.

What I am saying is that you're harking back to a campaign that is what.. 18 months ago? So because you didn't like that one, you're not prepared to buy something up to the value of £17 / 29.99 USD online to get the free BMP , it's too much of a risk, because it might be a failure.

So presumably (and granted I'm making an assumption here) you enjoyed both Nightfall & Eye of the North. If you'd bought the latter in the online store you wouldn't need for the BMP to be sold separately.

Oh and seriously, please don't compare buying a house to buying a game. The difference in price just makes that a ludicrous analogy.

Do I read reviews of games before I buy them? Yes, if I haven't played any of the developers output before. Am I swayed by advertisements? No, because it's all marketing. We're talking here about a product that has had enough output for you to have some sort of idea about what you're going to get. If you chose to believe that it wouldn't be worth the risk based on one release out of four that is over a year old ... well no I don't have any sympathy.

yes and you can contact it via the WWW.
like wow, what a concept.

-I bet if I really wanted to, I could find each and every one of these people who claim that they can't get a CC/debit card compatible for anet/ncsoft purchases a way to make payment.

it's amazing how some of these 'adults' have no problem solving skills, and to boot...had 90 days to solve the problem.

LOL. GG, /winthread.

Oh, and if I didn't make it clear in my edit above.

Personal attacks on my intelligence will only result in me having to raise my intellect level, at which point, you will lose. Don't play that game, keep the personal flames out of this thread. Thanks. This is a logical (albeit uneeded) debate. You making personal stabs at me will only switch on super sarcasm mode. Trust me, you don't want that.

You are up-left in that little country:
I've traveled abroad extensively. I realize there are places that don't have commonly available alternatives. I've been to places where my credit cards were not accepted and didn't even work in some places with ATM machines. The truth is that maybe ArenaNet should not market their products to people in those locales until ArenaNet has a method for them to pay. Ultimately, though, those people still lose out.

Not all countries are created equal. not all locales within countries are created equal. Immigration is constantly active due to those reasons. Admittedly, moving because someone can't get a game bonus pack is a bit absurd, but people have to either accept where they live or change where they live (by changing it or leaving it).

For an online-only promotion, offering in-store cards (or allowing PlayNC game cards to be used on the online store) defeats the purpose as the retailer is still taking their cut. By getting customers to buy directly from the store, they are trying to maximize their cut. If people can't buy from the online store and they see what they are missing, they may very well try whatever they can to have the capability next time something is offered.

The solution is probably a middle-ground, to allow people to use PlayNC game cards (which are found in stores) to apply towards products in the GW store. If you can't even get one of those, then you really are out of luck and need to accept that you're screwed.

I think the retardation you speak of has also given you verbal diarrhea. Judging by your vehement comments its quite obvious who has caused the retardation and to whom.

I have noticed that a large percentage who disagree with the notion of reintroducing the promotion or selling the bonus pack seperatley, have this violent stance towards those in favour - and not only that, they are the ones who seem to be denigrating the thread at hand and calling for its closure.

What Fenix failed to mention is that in order to be fair, if they were to sell it, it must be 29USD minimum. And as I have stated, what would that cause riverside to do?

Here is one possibility...

So you continue with personal attacks. Fine, so be it.

What you have failed to realize is that, there are MANY options available to we US citizens. I cannot speak for the Europeans in this matter, nor shall I. But any American who plays Guild Wars (and is of age to actually be playing the game) should and IS able to acquire a means to purchase the needed amount in the online store. The fact is, it is purely laziness that has caused these remorseful individuals to post here. Now, they see what they CHOSE to miss out on when they didn't take the 90 days they were given to fulfill the needed purchase amount, and they whine to no end. Well boo hoo. I missed a promotion when I bought my car. My car payment is 920 dollars a month, it could have been 790. I am not crying about it. Live and learn.
