yeah some would be ribbed off because many people spent the money just to get it because they were told it was limited!
it they wasn't told it would be limited do you they would have waited to get it in stores or online separately? i believe so
but i agree they should have more payment option in the online store because
1 they would get a hell of alot more sales that way
and 2 the people who cant get a credit card ie kids would be able to save their pocket money and still get the game
personally i don't mind my 12 year old step-daughter using my card but she has to save to money up first then after shes given it to me i put it in the bank and sit down with her at the computer and buy what she wants but i always check what she wants is safe and from a site we trust

I'm not gonna bother posting anything else because someone will start a quote war.
By which time the thread will have multiplied tenfold.

Like I said, basically it was to promote buying GW:EN from the in-game store. You could choose to buy other things to satisfy the promotion.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ghlight=paypal
416 people said they would not use PayPal. Gaile asked if people wanted PayPal, and a majority said no. Also, PayPal is not free for the merchant, any person would tell you it's not free to use PayPal.

Its not about having access to a credit card and it shouldnt be, its also not just kids. My dad doesnt use a credit card, he gets cash from the bank, spends the cash over the till. Call it old fashioned if you like but to restate a previous quote 'Everyone Is Different'.

This BMP is ok~ish idea and lot of people are enjoying it, but in my opinion better idea would have been to sell this as EotN CE promotion, target audience would have been much bigger.
The day when AN starts to sell exclusive in-game content through online store is the day when I look another game and drag all my friends along.

i don't have a credit card, and i even mailed the ingame store about this but they said they didn't accept any other payment whatsoever. New ways might be added in the future though, they stated
so yeah, i wouldn't mind getting the BMP later on and paying for it.

That's one of the funniest things I've heard in weeks. It's a load of crap, too, btw. There are a ton of online payment methods that don't involve credit cards, that are just as secure and safe (or not as the case may be with cc & identity theft) and some that are even more secure.
Think about it, for just a second, and ask yourself if you really believe that the entire population of a plethora of countries that don't have CC's simply don't shop online?
..... pardon me while I laugh at the outright ridiculousness of THAT thought.

lol yes, alot of those (non-american) minis can be bought in-game..at prices that are so silly, it makes me want to slap my momma. <----re-read and then apply to why to BmP weaps are non-resale. (kudos anet, kudos)

Trust me, they were thrown in just to dazzle and make kids covet. in the end it's all in the eye of the beholder.

Really until Anet provides more payment options in the online store and realize the world doesn't revolve around credit card usage there will continue to be complaints. There are enough viable payment options out there for non credit card holding people that Anet should be able to institute them into the store.

Again, that is how the cookie crumbles.

"...It is unfair that not everyone can get it. But that doesnt mean Anet hates you...."
Wrong, me for instance I live in Europe and cannot go to the XY Game Convention where GW players can get pins & so on.....I am not jealous....I dont scream...its part of the game.
You had FOUR (4) months to buy on line for X.........Question is: WHY DIDNT YOU REACT BEFORE INSTEAD OF NOW?
Too late folks.....you can cry me a river Joe Cocker is singing LOL

You could go to the XY game convention is a different situation to this, dont change the direction, firstly its not you adding something to something you already own and secondly your sad enough to go to one. /WINTHREAD

Yes laugh at your own thought. Go go strawman. My sister runs an ebay store so im quite familiar with the many ways to send money for online purchases.
Anet has done what it can. Yes theres tons of other online methods, but its Anet's decision which it has chosen for its store.

But it turned out to be quite a major addition, which is where I feel ripped off, as if we'd they'd promoted it properly - "Play as Togo, get unique max weapons, better than those found in eotn!" I definitely would have found a way to buy it off the store.
|
The weapons aren't "better" than the ones found in EotN or any of the campaigns. Now the skins might be better or worse to you, that's totally subjective. The stats aren't higher in the BMP and they have zero mods, they just have different skins. As for the advertising, where was any of it false. If you spend 29 bucks in the online store between this date and that date, you will get a Bonus mission pack. If they decided not to include any rewards in it, then yeah people would be upset, but it still wouldn't be false advertising. False advertisement would be telling you that you'd get the bonus mission pack and then not giving it to you. Everyone was expecting some kind of loot with this.

Kind of like a sandbox mode for appearance, armors, minipets, and weapons. Damn that would rule. No need to grind for shit, just have fun playing the game.

During the 4 months, there was NOTHING worth buying in the shop.
I spent 36€ on each account in the shop with my credit card, before and after the promotion.
For no reason, I would have bought anything useless, like extra character slots I don't need, just to get a mission pack for free.
Those who did, are idiots. If you did, well ...
If A.net wants my money, and that of other buyers, they know what they need to do. And soon. If they do it too late, well it's possible I'll keep my money and thxbye.

GWEN's release was intentionally within the BMP time frame.
Its a new expansion no one had yet. Kind of an obvious choice.

No CC = ask Dady....relatives...friends....it was only few bucks, you could refund quickly the $ knowing that Christmas is coming with fresh cash LOL
