In theory anet are, if you can only access a product by using online payment options which people may not have options to then they are preventing them. If I wanted it I'd of bought GW:EN from the online store but as others have said I'd much rather have the disks so that I dont have to spend ages downloading from anet servers. I wont buy stuff from the online store which I dont need to get 4 extra missions, why? In a nutshell because im not too bothered about it, if it was in the shop and I was just PAYING FOR THE ITEM I WANTED then it wouldnt be a problem but I wont go out of my way to get it which is the general feeling by a lot of people in this thread so why is it so hard to see? Are you ignorant or just.... ignorant.

TIP
burn a copy of your dat on a DVD (i make 3) and put it/them in a safe place.
reformat/reinstall than simply copy the up to date dat in place of the installed one and thats it.

What he said was take your gw.dat file, burn it to a cd or put it on a flash drive etc. and then you don't have to redownload the game if you need to reformat, just transfer the back up file onto your hard drive and it will update itself from there.

True, thats common sense but I'd much rather just have an official disk and its much easier, easy to keep it with other games and keep it more organised. Its also personal preference, I'd rather buy the item over the counter in a store than over the internet, dont ask why I just do, I must be old-fashioned.

If you dont care, why post in this thread? Theres no reason to do that, also life isnt always fair which is another obvious point but this would do three things:
*Piss people off who already bought stuff for the pack ( Buying stuff for something you dont need to get something doesnt make sense to me)
*Give people who dont have access to it a chance to get it
*Make anet more money
Dont agree? I dont care because its right.

If I could have gotten the bonus mission pack physically from a shop (ie, Disc, case and a leaflet) for lets say 10 pounds (20 dollers) I would have done it, I would have bought EoTn from the in game shop however I am 15 years of age and don't have a credit card. I have used my mothers one so much she gets pissed when I use it so now what? I miss out on stuff becuase of my age? hmmm, yea, I would like to see it avalible alone.

It is the fault of a 12 year old that he doesn´t have a credit card???
Wow, so many spiteful and arrogant people around here. "I had to jump through loops and I want everyone else to be forced to do that too."
Kindergarten. How old are you? 4???

Since i had to jump through hoops to get my BMP you should jump through them aswell
Seriously i dont see why people are so against the idea of Anet selling the BMP at a later date through their in game store. Allowing more people to experience the BMP so they can all complain about it in a thread hours later sounds like a fun idea.
I mean lets be honest. Only a few of us will enjoy the BMP - the rest will tell everyone how they could of done a better job.

The official disk lacks any updates after the CD was created, so it's much more effective to have an external hdd or burned CDs with your .dat
Also, I don't see how it's any less organized to keep a CD labeled GW.dat with your games. Now instead of keeping track of 3-4 cds, you only have to keep track of 1. Obviously you're more interested in the packaging than the cd itself, so the utility you got from buying the box should more than compensate missing out on the BMP. There's no use trying to complain about it now.
EDIT: Don't think I'm against Anet selling the BMP in the on-line store for $30ish because I honestly don't care. Most people still won't buy it because it's still through the on-line store, so I leave it entirely up to Anet to decide what's in their best interest. You all did make your bed, so I still can't feel badly for you though. :\

i didnt say i didnt care...all i am saying is NOT ALL promotion effects ALL players...of Guild Wars..and if you are under age and dont have a CC then you simply dont qualify...its not arrogant..just the way it is.
if it comes to shops fine, but then should cost more then recent price the rest of us paid..but then you whiners would complain its not fair for that too..

Being 12 and not being able to buy something because of a lack of credit card sucks. But you can't always get what you want or have things your way, the world is not under any obligation, moral or otherwise, to be fair to you or anyone in particular. You guys might as well learn your lesson now, before you set yourselves up for even more disappointment down the line in this little rollercoaster we call life.

You could have got a disposable credit card. I don't think there is a restriction on them. You just pay X dollars, and you get a credit card with that much money on it.
And TBH, its not Areanets fault you pissed off your mom by using her credit card too often.

Why should I be screwed out of a Box and Discs? Because I followed the on-screen message about a promotion (which lasted for months) and went ahead and qualified myself for the reward which was said to only be obtainable through certain means?
If they flip-flop and offer it in the in-game store, they'll screw over anyone who used the in-game store, which is not what they want to do, obviously. Like the in-game store need anymore bad press.
If you couldn't access the in-game store to buy GW:EN or character slots to qualify for the BMP because you couldn't meet the payment methods, how is selling the BMP in the in-game store going to help you?

No, but it is the 12 year olds fault for getting a game that specifically says you have to be 13 or older to play. If you technically aren't even allowed to play, why should Areanet cater to your audience?
This is basically a thread with people whining for a promotion they missed out on after having four months to qualify for. I can't /notsigned this enough.

can we please close this thread already, your request ain't going to happen. Anet made that perfectly clear.
And no more excuse as to why you failed to make the purchase, if you had no means, what you could not ask a friend or family member?
If you have no friends or family, then I guess your SOL.
