A friend of mine had the maximum limit of the character slots on his account and he had unlocked all the skills and runes and had everything that the GW online store could possibly offer.... so he had nothing to buy so he didn't get his BMP cause of that I personally couldn't get it cause my parents don't have a CC

And don't you feel cheated?

30 bucks are 30 bucks, with that money a children in an African country could have medicines, food, chances to survive.

What has A.net done to you and many others? Cheated.
They got easy money, selling something they would never have sold in other ways because it was unneeded, something that the buyers themselves consider useless, using the lure of a not well specified "surprise".

In my opinion they made a marketing experiment - everything that's going to happen from now to GW2 will be a market experiment, GW1 itself was - and the result was to irritate a good part of their customer base.

This failure was predicted since the announcement.

Person A buys an HD DVD player from local electronics store.
Person B buys the same model HD DVD player from an online store for the same price. The online store is also offering a free copy of Heroes Season 1 with purchase.

By your logic, everyone in the world would have a copy of Heroes Season 1. Think about it, it doesn't work like that. However, the person buying from store A has a wallet just as light as the person buying from store B. The store B buyer is just getting extras. If you want to argue about semantics, you could say free with purchase... which is exactly what the BMP was.

And person A will always have the opportunity to buy wherever and whenever and IF he wants the Heroes Season 1.
Will not come for free, will spend more money, but if he wants, he has and will have the possibility to buy.

That's how things normally work.

I completely understand that the people that did not get the BMP are unhappy that they missed out. Unfortunately I think it will be the same as all of us who missed purchasing a collector's edition because they were not available when we got guild wars. They will not allow us to upgrade to a collector's edition (I have asked) and I expect that they will stand firm on the BMP in the same way.

Because of this I will not miss out on any release or bonus that is available to us...I learned my lesson with prophecies and factions...

Sucks? Yeah... Not fair? Maybe not... but that is life....

the problem is this is playable content
not a stupid collectors dance + 2-3 special items of which all knew before release and didn't have such a restricted way to obtain
and please don't talk about life
if you have enough money to donate to a site you most likely don't know how hard some people live

These a difference of semantics and lies saying the BMP was free is not semantics its a lie. There was nothing free about it. Stop trying to set up a false foundation to justify all the people who said screw the BMP it will suck, now wanting missions for free. Thats the bottom bottom line of all these posts. I bunch of begging to get it for free.

I regret not having a compatible payment option.

Very early on in the BMP campaign Europeans pointed out to Anet/NCSoft that the payment options in the online shop were insufficient/incompatible and because of that the terms to qualify for the BMP could not be fulfilled.
By means of Gaile, Anet said they would look into that and see if other payment options could be added.
Nothing changed in the payment options.

The results you see in two polls on two different websites.

According to the one on Incgamers 64% has the BMP.
According to the one on Wartower.de, less than 20% has the BMP.

BTW: I recommend everyone the read the post by a moderator on Wartower.de about this topic.

Well, they were really fair about it TBH. If any of you wanted it bad enough, you could have found a way. Im a kid and i did odd jobs (mowin the lawn, taking out the trash, takin care of the family pets) around the house to get my dad to buy GW:EN online, which i wanted to get anyways.

Allowing us to buy GW:EN at the same time as fufillin the BMP req was totally fair.

not true

as Ive stated 3 times in this thread

since 08/02/2007

Plaync.com accepted Paysafe as payment option

anyone who bought GWEN through PlayNC store got the BMP

heres a reminder in contrast to your "nothing changed for payment options"
http://guildwars.incgamers.com/forum...=459394&page=4
Quote:
* Included PlayNC in the Bonus Mission Pack promotion, because PlayNC has more payment options than the in-game store

* Investigated and added new methods of payment, such as the very-accessible (for many) PaySafe method

You know nothing about my life...

I am one of the few people here that did not gloat or say that people should not be allowed to obtain the BMP in other ways! I simply pointed out Anet's stance in the past and that it probably will not change in the future.

There were other methods of payment offered to accommodate people. If someone really wanted it that badly they could have taken advantage of one of those other opportunities. what probably happened was people saw that their preferred method of payment was either unavailable or malfunctioning, threw up their hands and said "nevermind" instead of exploring other options. the way some people are crying about this you would think they would have gone that extra mile and found a way to buy it. It obviously didn't matter enough to them then so why cry about it now?

So I have to order a pre-paid card in Germany? Pfff. Why did ncsoft chose that paysafe, if it isn't even available in all euro countries. Only trough shipment?

I got the BMP because thankfully I needed extra character slots for mules, however, I do feel some empathy for those who didn't get it. I mean who amongst us had any idea just how cool the missions would be not to mention the stunning weapon designs. I'm sure it's been pointed out before, but EoTN felt rushed and honestly, half-assed with terrible reskinned/re-textured armor, unimpressive weapons, and a HoH that doesn't really work. The BMP to me is a more fitting end to GW1 than EoTN will ever be. It'd be nice if somewhere down the road, everybody might be able to enjoy it.
