You don't get it, in a nutshell not everything on the Internet is Logical and Serious, people can have a name like ''Fuc Yu Al Nite'' for example'' and it could mean *whatever* that person says it does to them, but to us, it's obvious what it means. Sounding it out or not, you can interpret alternate meanings just by reading it, it's called common sense and knowledge, I mean come on.. anyone who has signed up for this site and played Guild Wars could easily know this. I once heard of something called Sarcasm too, but I don't know, maybe it's a myth.

The 600k trade, might just be a bit fishy.
More importantly GURU is not your personal advocate connection to Anet.
Tell your "friends" to contact support, and quick attempting to create a moral panic.. Banning bonanza, my butt. Two legit banning isn't excessive.
I don't believe your first case, well I should say I feel your neglecting to mention all the details.

If you're read Carefully, the name IS NOT a mistake, and clearly not intended to break the EULA or offend people. "Faq Quebec" refers to his guild tag and name, Frères D'Armes du Québec (Brothers of Arms of Quebec). It's an abbreviation, nothing more.
I log on to my other computer and transfer stuff between my primary account, my secondary account and my husband's. Never had a problem, and hopefully never will. Sure it wasn't 600k, but still. Done by the same people in the same guild, so probably people who trust each other, gg.
I don't call those two bans "legit" at all.

I have a rare commodity of common sense and etiquette.
And I'm sure they were charming people all around, who've had an injustice done. I've seen people banned too. But never someone for offensive language when they didn't deserve it.
This statement is so very wrong.

Anet's rules and reasons for bans are veeeery mild. It's not easy to get banned in GW. This is why, once they started enforcing bans (they haven't for first 2 years), some found themselves punished.
Apart from bot related activites (sorry, playing non-stop for 18 hours for 5 days a week is not normal) and unusual trades, I have yet to see someone get mistakenly banned for making a mistake.
|
My husband was mistakenly banned. He has never been remotely rude to anyone in game, not sworn, not said anything even close to offensive. He doesn't play 18 hours a day, as anyone with a 3 year old son can tell you that it can't happen. He hasn't done any unusual trades, or moved alot of cash around on his account (we wish!) .

Hello,
Thank you for contact Guild Wars Support. After reviewing the issue, it appears that your account was blocked in error. Your account is now released and you should be able to log in to Guild Wars. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Mmmm....good way to build up player support when you are working on GW2. The last time I heard of stuff like this was when MS Vista came out.

i posted somthign like this about 8 hours ago they closed it due to flaming by the op,
i stated reasons why faq is banable and you have no reason to say that its not ifyou read the user agreement you would know this.
and not have made a toon with faq in the name, also adressing the money thing yes i do alot of trading too gold wise til i go tnew computer.
like when my girlfriend needed cas i would have a friend holdon to the money, theni would long into my girl's accoutn a dn get it. i have not got banned yet for this , but this is one issue they should fix.
but as far as i see that the only thing wrong with how/report, other then 3 days , ill just play on other accounts, they should bann ip's not just account's

I am responding immediately to the first post, and will read the thread more fully after this.
Yes, we have had an issue with blocks over the last several days. The issue is connected with the process we have in place to reduce gold selling in the game. Now, most players have noticed the number of bots has dropped dramatically, so that's a major positive. What is a major negative, though, is the fact that a few players moving large amounts of gold between accounts through the help of a friend have found themselves blocked.
We're very sorry for this error, and I am exchanging emails this very hour about the matter. Such blocks should stop within the next few hours, if they have not already ceased now. Any of these sorts of blocks that have taken place can and should be appealed to Support. Well, unless you're a gold seller, in which case, you need not apply.
Again, we're very sorry, and we're working on the case to promptly answer all appeals and to stop the false blocks right away.

Frères D'Armes du Québec to abb it wont it be fdq not faq, you can tell its just a made up reason to complain about the banning of his account and him having to delete his account come on do you think we are dumb
Brothers of Arms of Quebec DOES NOT = FAQ either all he did was triwst it togather to make faq as a excuse to have the name as faq which is RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO and he knew it

Heres what happened:
As you can see, someone hit the Red "Ban Frenzy" button instead of the Purple "Nerf Paragon" button. A simple mistake to see, expect Paragon nerfs in the future when they fix this mistake! So silly to put them so close together!

You are right about the second: All appeals will be reviewed, with care. I've said it before, but let me make it clear: We do not want to block accounts. We do not try to nail people to the wall. We would far rather you were playing than that you were blocked! When there is need -- when "the rules" call for it, or logic calls for it -- the team will take action. But we take action because it is needed, and not because that's our primary objective! Every block is regretable. Every block is something we'd rather not do, but do in the interest of fairness to other players, in the interest of preserving the game economy, in the interest of making the game world a pleasant place to be for other people, in the interest, sometimes, of law.
Anyway, you're mistaken about the first part: We have no "automatic bans." None. Let me make this clear one more time: No one is automatically blocked in Guild Wars. What has occured here is that the people working on the reports are setting blocks based on incomplete information. But believe me, people are setting the blocks, and people will remove them as quickly as they can, based on a support ticket.
lol @ CHunterX. I think you may be on to something, there.

Well, theres the answer.
And I have noticed that there are no bots around, I guess there is in *some* select few places, but if you look at some of the older problematic areas, theres no bots. In fact I found myself asking ''Where did all the bots go?" a few weeks ago. I should go on a hunt, lol.

That was funny!
And thank you Gaile. Is there any hope in at least relooking at the /report system. I don't belive it needs to go away, I do belive it needs to be tweaked in favor of the accused. Maybe it could be innocent until proven guilty????
I am just tired of playing the game with H/H. It is the only way I see to stay out of the /report system now with so many being suspended.

For the Record.
I think thats what you say, for the record,
Yes, I do have a trusted, very trusted friend that we transfers stuffs among ourselves.
we stack crafting materials and stuffs and provide service to each other in terms of transfering gold and items from one account to the other, we both have 2 accounts, one extra account for keeping stuffs was created when there's no character slots available, so we do transfers stuffs in bulk, once in a while, we call it storage cleaning.
It would be kind of not fun if we get ban for a periodical storage cleaning.

Hey Gaile,
Thanks for taking the time here. Yhea the last week was a bit over the edge but as you mentioned it's true, I saw less bots around.
I am sure it's all for the better and nothing can be done in a way that will make 100% of the ingame population totaly happy.
Though a little sugestion for the offensive name tag : Why not giving a 48h to submit a ticket and explain if there are any good reasons for your ingame name. Some are just plain kiddy/offensives but i am sure there are legit ones who are only a language barrier confusion.
Keep up the good work @ Anet and again Ty for passing by,
Boby Gore

Anet should start realising how many people actualy play. As they ban thousands of bots and apparently a lot of people have a second account as well.
