It's just a warning for people who don't know.
Why do you people who do know get so worked up?

Because warnings like this, no matter how well-intentioned, never work because people need to be able to do two things in order to understand: read, and comprehend. Most GW players are devoid of both, so the warnings fall on deaf ears anyway/only are read by the people who already know. I've made warnings like this public myself only to be met the same way.
Never mind that there is a growing thread about this issue elsewhere in this same sub-forum.

qft. unfortunately even the most stupid scams work these days. You must remember that only a small population actually goes to these forums or any forums and that then only a part of those people actually read and fully comprehend what is going on. It is unfortunate but many, many people will still fall for any scam. Although i'm not sure if this can be fully counted as a scam.

It can be, and is- if the scammer says that they can be traded outright, which is obviously false.

Unfortunately, a very few number of GW players actually come here. And the majority of us who do come here usually read the wiki about these things anyway.
You'd have better luck spreading the word in game.

Me thinks they are the people scamming people
joking... joking
Anyway, that's a good tip, but yeah, denouncing people who are trying to sell them in town in local will inform more players and scare off their players more effectively.

The stupidly ignorant people who cannot read the update notes and get scammed for this most likely will not read this thread. This is hardly a scam, it's people exploiting others' ignorance. No need for a thread.
