i personally find opening the hest is PLENTY fun. the chance and excitement prior to openning it is fun enough. also, if i were doing pvp, i might as well have some material reward for doing so. awesome i say. awesome chest indeed.

More people can get nice skins now... what's the problem? I think the zaishen chest is awesome, it lets more people use the nice skins they always wanted.

Sure, the people that already got their Runic Blade req 8 for 100K + 200 ecto's may whine... But if you had soooo much cash to spend on 1 weapon you probably have enough money now to buy everything in the game.

About the economy - economy was messed up when lootscaling came and made people poor. This chest is actually a good thing. Players now don't have to pay 100K + 200 ecto's for 1 single item.

If you wanna look elitist, BE elitist and get titles. Don't carry weapons around just to show others that they suck and you rule...

Tbh one needn't worry because the majority of people fail at pvp and thus it's not as easy to get keys as one might think. Add to this fact that the chest drops stupid consummables to rares in a 7:3 ratio and I think for the most part high-end weapons will stay high end.

I actually had a lot of fun opening the chest over and over. It was exciting not knowing what you were going to get and a great thrill when u get a rare skin.

I personally like it even though it would be nice to keep the rare stuff in halls but I think Fame is over rated way easier to get then gladiator rank. 1 win 1 point is easy.Doesn't seem fair you get the best emotes best drops and easy points when compared to gladiator.

I think there should be a way to control what people spend on buying items from other players. They should put a minimum/maximum bid value for each item's stat values. Skins are subjective to player's taste in the particular style.

Lets assume the Zaishen Keys market value is 100-500 gold depending on location, so if a player offers a Zaishen key for 1 gold, its not going to compute the transaction because the price is outside the required bid values. I suppose this why we need an auction house. I would also make it where players can't sell items on their own, then need to go thru auction house or sell it to a merchant. However I think exchanging items is fair.

I can see how people might abuse that system by using select items just for monetary exchanges and cashing in at merchant. I'd require a 72-144 hours (depending on item's true monetary value) requirement of keeping items before you can sell it to a merchant or auction it for gold.

I like it because now, I can actually make money without having to step into the dull, torturous gaming experience that is PvE.

QFT.
I'm afraid many PvE players don't realize the opponents in PvP matches DON'T drop lewt?..

The chest is a wonderful idea...maybe more will enjoy a good PvP match for the obvious reasons.

Sorry, but everyone complaining about this is goddamn retarded. Go PVP a while and see how long it takes you to build up 1 Million balthazar faction to get 200 keys. You MIGHT get a crack at something really rare, and then again maybe not.

Bottom line: There was a huge influx of nice items flowing into the system because alot of people had banked faction and/or tourney points. The amount of time it will most likely take to pull something truly rare out of the Zaishen chest in the future will most likely be far higher than that of just straight out farming for the item. GFG.

The Trader reset is what killed the economy, for the most part. That was a long time ago and it brought a ton of wealth into a few hands. I missed the reset by a day (was at school).
Then there was the Chest in the shiverpeaks that needed no key and spawned every time. It took about 1 minute to get to.
Then there was the duping exploit. That killed the economy too.

For me, if the "high end" market falls, then great. The fact that there are still items in this game worth more than 100k is just...baffling to me.

Shiverpeak chest didnt do anything to the economy, not many people even used it so I dont understand why you would bring that up.

Trader reset? I think I remember it but most of the rich people made from trading player to player not from some stupid anet editing.

I thought duping was fixed? Cant they do anything right?

Having items worth mroe than 100k means some people get rewarded for having gold, which is good, I have what I need for all my chars so its all good but for others they want something nice and valuable.

They killed the economy for the super rich players with 10 stacks of ectos and made it good for people with 100k to their name. I'm pretty sure the number of people with 100k is more than the people with piles of ectos.
