There are quite a few weapon models in the game that I don't like for exactly this reason - they look totally two-dimensional. Bramble bows are the best example I can think of.

On topic: I'm not a big fan of the Exalted model anyway, so the color is irrelevant to me.

Gloom Shield 4 teh win.

On the contrary, i think Gloom Shields are too one dimensional. It's just...too one colored, you get only one kind color to it, no other gliding or something else. There really isn't much appealing to it except the patterns on the shield, which is somewhat nice. But the aegis, except the fact that the skin is common, it actually looks nice......imo anyways.

I have never noticed that thing when the shield is upside down.
