Figureprints in GW(3D Replica's of your characters)
In WoW, a guy named Ed Fries, one of the creators of the Xbox console, has created a company called figureprints which allows people to get their characters printed out with a 3D Printer... they can decide which gear they want them to wear, and pose and everything, more here: http://www.figureprints.com/Default.aspx
they say that they currently are only doing it for WoW, but also because the Dell technology with the 3D printers are not basic technology yet, but he said that eventually that he wants to expand to other games.
I would love to be able to get a replica of MY character.
wouldnt you?

Since all my characters look good in any game, I wouldn't mind either a GW or WoW figure made in my image.

Ever actually used a 3D printer?
The quality is horrible on small size figures, and the price is huge on large size figures.
It takes 7 minutes to print a 1/2 x 1/2 x 1/2 block with an average printer.
It also takes 30 minutes-1 hour to heat up an average 3D printer to the point of use.
It seems to me like a very inefficient business. :[

If it's WoW, it'll be big.
But that said, I really hope that those guys in the "pictures" are just samples...The gear they're wearing is pretty subpar and can be replaced in just a matter of days. To compare it to GW, it's like modeling a warrior with a mix of Wyvern and Krytan armor, i.e. "Why would you pay money for that??"

Kinda lame if you ask me.
You can make much much better action figures that are actually poseable.

I think they are awesome. All the naysayers... well I don't see anything even close for Guild Wars. There aren't even T-shirts, posters, etc. available in the NCSoft store. So please, share these resources for the players where they can order and create some of their own!

To all the naysayers what exactly is wrong with wanting a figurine of your character? If you dont want one you dont have to buy one, but at the same time there is no need to offend those that would like such figures.
I would actually need to see something like this before I buy it though. I collect dragon figurines and most that I have seen are just plain hideous.

That's cool. I don't know that I'd pay what it probably costs, but it's still cool. On an unrelated note, good lord WoW characters are fugly.

I was just thinking about this last week when looking at some 3-D printing videos on YouTube. The machines are getting better and cheaper so maybe when GW2 rolls out this is something that could be available for us.
