Most likely, probably with using Guild Wars and the drawing of that guy (?). Or maybe they are just fake sites trying to get credit card info, who knows? It's fishy by all means...

The original artwork appears to come from a defunct art site, http://www.blizzard-art.com/. Apparently roleplayers have latched onto the pic of the sword. Some genius must have thought the sword wouldn't sell so well unless it was attached to a video game. (Also, Gaert may not necessarily be the name of the person, but a mispelling.)

Yeah I saw that and lol'd. These Indonesian/Indian/Pakistani sword making cos just make swords and slap FF/GW/WoW/DBZ/Bleach & any other brand name they can think of on it... lol!

As far as I can tell, it's a real sword made to look sort of like one in GW. They would appear to offer many swords that take their "look" from various video games.

Similar to the arm blades, usually labeled as Blood Rayne's, even though they are very different. Crap marketing scheme. Pretty sure not a single GW player will fall for it.

They clearly marketing it as a Guild Wars "product" having the GW name there IE making money off the name.
I can smell a lawsuit.

This sword is all over the Internet, and it's totally not Guild Wars at all. We appreciate hearing about this sort of thing, because it's not right for people to be taking advantage of our game in a profit-making sense.

I have referred this for a legal review. The attorney may or may not decide to pursue it -- that's not a call that I could make. However, I do know that this is a bogus "Guild Wars" item, is not approved nor authorized by ArenaNet or NCsoft, and such use is a violation of both copyright and our Terms of Use.

Guideline: If the product you are selling bears the name or logo of a company, but it wasn't made or endorsed by that company, don't list it on eBay.

Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:

*Listing cancellation
*Limits on account privileges
*Account suspension
*Forfeit of eBay fees on cancelled listings
*Loss of PowerSeller status

I reported that particular listing as Replica, Counterfeit Items and Unauthorized Copies. Being as they don't have permission to use the Guild Wars name or logo. Not to mention that is flat out false advertising.
