A guildie offered to take me to the central transfer chamber so I could get my silver eagle set. I was about three primary quests away: not game breaking.
Mass bannings would be an overreaction. I doubt it'll come to that though.

I haven't done the glitch (or farmed) but all i have to say is....is that all Guild Wars is to you? A big grindfest to get to the end so you can farm?

tbh it's not like it mattered that much, banning would be WAY out of the question. it didn't give anyone the upperhand as you still need quests and such to complete missions

p.s. I think the bigger crime here was your atrocious spelling which I took it upon myself to correct in the quote

Although I don't like it (and I'v seen plenty of peopel ferrying, and others asking to be) I havn't seen a drastic kick in the prices yet. For one I the Amulets of the Mist would have been abused to death. Simply start a new char, do glitch, get to Imperial Sanctum, get a friend/s to kill Shiro, easy Amulet...That could be done in what? Under 5 minutes? And get around 6k?

This is nowhere near as bad as duping. In fact, i'm pretty certain that many duped items are still in circulation, when I see people offering quite frankly obscene amounts of ecto for things; for example, I saw one person offering thousands upon thousands of ecto, wanting to buy panda AND kanaxaii AND island guardian AND zhed. I know some people have a lot of ecto, but quite frankly nobody has that much ecto by legitimate means i'm sure. Either duping is still around in a different form but much quieter, or there are many many duped items still in circulation that will likely never be found and deleted.

If the zone-anywhere glitch is seen to be a serious-enough issue to deserve account action, that action will be taken. I don't know yet what decision will be made about it. But at the end of the day, this is sort of like a casino: Casino personnel can't catch every person who cheats at cards, but that doesn't keep them from looking, or from reacting when they catch a cheater.
|
Can you give us a serious verdict? Frankly, I doubt action will be taking and think you are only making it seem as though it could be so that fewer people will do it before it is fixed. Then, once it is fixed you will fall back on some story about ferrying not having been serious.

My opinion... They shouldn't have locked gates or missions....
((Yes I know this is supposedly fixed now, but I want to give my 2 cents anyways))
Ban those using the exploit? Leave Prophecies still completely runnable with people making money off the runs...?
o_O I think, that if someone wants to spend THEIR money for a run, that they should be able to. I am aware that it is an exploit, but I still fail to see how running in Proph is any different.
And I see a very HUGE difference between armbraces and mapping. When the first bug rolled out for the mapping, I got to the last two missions in Proph and then went back and played through them both anyways (I was already at the on the first fire island mission)! I think that the high end areas are what keeps people playing. I've pretty much stopped dragging characters through because it's gotten old. I do it in Proph because I can skip ahead in some areas. Does that mean that I am a negative part of the community? If so, then hell I should stop helping people, because no one will appreciate it because I skip ahead...
Armbraces could have caused an economy collapse, that would have just flat out broken the game. Even "if" the main objective with the runs/porting were to get those books or amulets, it wouldn't change all that much since they aren't worth a whole heck of a lot anyways. I think most people just don't want to replay over and over!
*hangs head* I cannot believe that people would be so wrapped up in what everyone else is doing (when it didn't actually affect them), that they would become so engrossed, as to come here and post their hate rather than play the game... over a bug.
Hell, let's make it absolute that every area has to have its full party before entering anything. Because think about it folks - people who solo farm are exploiting a build! *sighs* Now now, no one can have more or less than anyone else, because that would be wrong.
/Ayn Rand
I understand its a bug and it should be fixed. What I don't understand is why everyone is making such a monumental deal about it when there are far worse things that haven't been fixed or stopped and are actually considered a feature and not a bug!

I haven't been mapped to an outpost or mapped anyone to an outpost so I am having a hard time getting worked up over this. Yet there are 9 pages of people crying for action. Another fine example of people playing guru more than gw? Yes, I think so. Seriously, who really wants the end game greens? Perfect gold items are basically worthless at this stage of the gw decline. Like common end game greens will upset the delicate balance of the universe ...
Other than potential end game item farming abuse (LMAO) .. who cares. If Anet finds it to be a problem .. fix it. I am sure the forum masses will find a new thing to cry about .. bring back the nerf ursan threads (note heavy use of sarcasm .. UB cry threads were already beat to death).
Speaking as a person still grinding out the rank6 koabd title track .. I am not typically in a town long enough to get upset about what other people are doing in the game. Perhaps .. some of you need to actually PLAY the game and spend less time in towns worrying about what others are doing.

you people do realize that other things were farm-able via this exploit don't you?
and (LMAO) for some reason or another, anet put a one end game green(freebie) per character limit up. this particular exploit tossed that thru the window.

People should be able to take advantage without Anet banning them.

Was in Imperial Sanctum on my ranger about an hour ago when a lvl 2 assassin, lvl 10 rit and a lvl 20 warrior zoned in together. Either they had taken advantage earlier on or it's not fixed

Really, what mostly came out of this was that some people were able to get the armor and things that they were wanting without having to grind through a bunch of missions they had already done hundreds of times. I'm sure some people had devised schemes to make money off of it (aside from being the person who ferried), but it wasn't really wide-spread enough to make that big of an impact on anything.
Most of you that are whining are probably just mad because you couldn't figure out how to do it, and didn't want to pay for a ferry.
