I cant speak much on the subject since I only have 12 titles maxed, but for those I farm a couple runs ss/lb, then do a mission or 2, then vanquish an area and map it, then PvP, then start over again. Makes each title come slow but is very nice when you go from 3 max titles to 8 in a weekend because you had worked them all up together

When a girl comes up to me and... oh. You didn't really mean define what I think grind is. My bad.
Meh. So long as it stays optional (no need to play 6h+/day for six months+ to hit lvl 80 or w/e to stay competitive), couldn't care less.

Grinding is a choice, made by the player, on how to play the game.

My, it must be terrible for you, having Anet pointing a gun at your head forcing you to max worthless titles. I'm sure glad I'm free to simply not bother with them.

I want the God title. I realize that to get there, I'm going to have to get through about four or five more titles that require serious grind.
I don't really mind that though, because the grind will eventually bring my character higher ranks in certain skills, which will open up the opportunity for him to try out new builds. Plus, some forms of grind might push me into areas I haven't gotten to yet, or they might actually be a part of something I enjoy.
I grind every Gamer weekend to get my title, and I enjoy having it at tier six. As long as the journey is fun and the rewards are worthwhile, I will grind.

Now I feel like the odd one out.
is my challenging game play=your grind?
I don't think titles are mandatory in this game yet...and if it's for the pve skills you want..um..I don't think it takes too much time to play thru a few areas, to gain a high enough rank to make that certain skill effective?
I could be wrong.....

Grind in GW..?
Not really.
Titles are optional, therefore they don't count. Farming is optional, therefore that doesn't count. The fed-ex quests in Factions are pretty dull, but they can be skipped. PvE skills are for bad people, therefore they don't count.
All the main quests are pretty straight forward.
GW lacks grind, thats why serious MMO players call it shit.

However during runs I try to get people talking a bit, hang around on vent with guildies etc. Ontop of that through the farm I have gotten to know several people who were going with me, who are now in my friends list, for example: We got talking about titles, and one person on the team needed just Eternal Grove and Raisu Palace HM for Canthan guardian. I offered my help since I had recently completed that title, and enjoyed those missions. After that we have done several Elonan HM missions together and have been having a good time.
So my point is, grind titles like ss/lb are only grind if you make it that imo, I usually enjoy myself while doing the runs, as the runs themselves I put very little thought into and have a good time chatting, talking over vent etc. I'd like to hear some other opinions on this, and how you've managed to take the gind out of the grind titles

Go play maplestory
Talk to me about grind later
And yes grind is only grind if you make it that in GW
Except in maplestory
or other korean mmo's >.>

Rather not.
The player makes a choice to grind these titles or not. I have gotten a few titles while playing the game casually and I continue to do so. If the titles can only be achieved by grinding then how am I achieving titles without grinding?
Whenever I play the game, I do whatever I feel like doing that day. I don't decide to play and say "I arez going to win this titlez" but, rather, I decide to do the things I enjoy doing, which titles are achievements that simply happen to be included as a part of some of these things that I enjoy.
In fact, I go around on different characters playing with other people and simply playing the game, and I often find that I have made new title ranks without even noticing it.
Possibly the only title I ever "grind" would be the Gamer title (Skillz) because I play lots of snowball arena when it's available since it is only available for so long out of the year. But I do not grind specifically for the title, I play them frequently because I enjoy the Snowball fights and want to have fun competing in them while they are available.
If you are logging on with the sole purpose of maxing out some titles as quickly as possible, then you are making the choice to grind them. If you are complaining about grinding titles then stop grinding them.

I have several titles in progress at the time (actually almost all of them) - a little work here a little grind there - it doesn't get too boring if you do it that way!
I also recognise the fact that all of this is something I choose to do - if I don't feel like it,- I don't do it!

I generally switch between titles like other people said...ss/lb to vanq to guardian, etc. Or sometimes I just switch games all together and play UT3 or CSS. That works too. It also helps a lot to have a really good grinding playlist to listen to.

Boring! Which is probably why I don't have any of the grind titles.

I took a long break this year from playing ~after maxing out 13 titles I was just toasted and wasn't having any fun anymore.
When I came back ( about a month and a half ago) I decided I would take it slow and easy ~ having fun while working on multiple titles at once with no rush to Max them all at once.
I figure a bunch will end up maxing at the same general time this way too.

It happens when developers aren't creative enough to make titles obtainable with enough skill, not time. The way they are know, who'll get max LB rank faster? Skilled Mesmer player who only has time to play 2h/day or Healing Hands Wammo 14 year old, who's skipping school and playing GW?
O, rite, it's not optional so I guess it's okay when more retarded player with more time gets it faster than a skilled player.
It's not like GW was advertised as skill > time game.
