When Mount St. Helens erupted in 1980, it shifted the the land it was on by a nice effect. So, you can't come up with the theory that the searing caused the land to deform from the massive impacts and the bridge happened to lodge itself there?
Personally, I don't care. I hate post-searing because it looks like crap. So, I downloaded that mod that made Ascalon look pretty again even in post. It works wonders, I feel like grass is growing under my feet and Ascalon looks nice again! Yay. I'm done here.
I think finding more things like this would be interesting.

No, we don't. Do you know if you get 10 charr on that bridge, the face grins and eats the charr? My game's more fun.

Actually, the terrain around Fort Ranik and Regent Valley is very different. If you wander out into Ashford, it's dead easy to match everything up, but in Regent Valley it's a lot more than water levels. The hills and valleys are just not the same. Strange that the land is so different and yet the aqueduct is almost untouched.
If they were built recently, the only explanation would be that there was an existing building that got trashed by the searing, and the bridges were built from its ruins. This would explain the faces and the damaged pillars.
The face is on both sides, btw.

I never noticed the bridges being different in pre and post I just knew about the res shrine outside of Ascalon. When playing in beta it was where it was in pre and Ambassador Zain was right behind it and it looked more orangey then.

The pre-searing architect died in the searing so they had to replace him when rebuilding destroyed bridges.

I always thought that the searing was more than just a bombardment; I interpreted the crystal things as literally changing the very land they crashed into. It makes sense to me that, while the charr may have used them to simply bring down the great northern wall, the titans or whomever they prayed to to bring about the searing had other things in mind. In short, the charr wanted to breach the wall, but the forces behind the bombardment wanted to wipe away the life and very identity of Ascalon...

During the Searing, a bridge from some other area in Ascalon was hit by an explosion that launched the bridge into the air where it landed at that particular stream, intact.
