People misunderstand threads as always, its not about the amount of time lost.
Its about why it happend? How did it happen? Is there a limit?
People, me included are interested to know.
I for one is not QQing.

Integer overflow.
35791.3941 minutes. Then it starts from zero again.

I believe a couple of calculations made earlier in this thread, based on computer-mathemactics.

they didn't work for the favor they worked for the max title. And probably 80% of those people wouldn't have got the title maxed if they didn't make the event. So why should they give something back to us that was just a coincidence of those players who only play the events

Agreed. Saying people maxed their titles for favor is like saying people played HA for it. It's just a side bonus for something they were going to do anyway, really. There may be a few more exceptions to this, but for most, it's true.

Am I the only that noticed that the price for rubies and sapphires had fallen while everyone was farming for titles and not only was the favor reset but so was the price for rubies and sapphires (back up to the standard 5.5k and 3.3k). The price of rubies and sapphires should be effected because the place people farm to the titles is also the place where rubies, sapphires, jeweled daggers, and ruby daggers / mauls drop.
Kind of upset since I bought 10 rubies at 4.1k ea then went to bed thinking the price would be even lower in the morning. Logged back on in the morning to find the price reset and the price seemed to be fixed and did not come down for two days. Was really hopping to buy the 48 rubies and sapphires I needed for all my armor.

I think anet thought paterns are: Ooops, oh well they already have 28K favor. No need for them to have 50K+.
I guess they are working reaaaaaaal hard on GW2....

Pretty disrespectful to its client base in my opinion.

Seriously you have totally missed the point here which is in constant and persistent changing of should-be-rules.
Sure i`m playing - this is a great game. I just don`t want to see it ruined.

only two options i see in one
A: yeah sorry we f*cked up, didnt expect that much favor and we wernt prepared. no way to get it back either=QQ zomg we worked for that favor, we earned it give it back
B: yeah we deleted it. what are you going to do about it?=same as option A

Greetings,
Well, frankly I just want them (ANet) to fix the favor bug. I don't really care if we (the players) get our favor back or not, because I am pretty much convinced that we won't anyway, regardless of how polite a spin ANet puts on it. Just please ANet, fix the damn bug that caused the loss of favor time in the first place (and let us, the players, know that you did).
Then again, prepare for the bad, expect the worst - if ANet comments on this at all, it will probably be along the lines of "blahblahblah looking into it blahblahblah too complex to fix blahblahblah Guild Wars 2 blahblahblah new <weapons/mini/hat>", and then hope the issue gets swept under the rug, where their silence on this issue suggests they want it anyway.

I am sure we'll know more tomorrow and when we have information about this, I'll pass it along.

In the end it doesnt matter, good gracious, you have another 19 days of favor without adding any new titles, get past it, when the tv station (cable or satellite customers in particular) you are watching has an issue, do they send you a message to tell you what is up?

Dang, Firebat, you're in big trouble now!
I did comment upon this, but I realize that not everyone reads every point of contact, so here are those answers and comments:- Yes, player theory was right in this particular case -- good detective work, guys! -- and the reset was due to a 16-bit ceiling on the code.
- We will fix it so that it does not happen yet.
- We will not restore the Favor, since in less than a day it was nearly back to the numbers it had reached before the reset.
- And when asked whether we will put a cap on Favor, the fact is we don't have set limitations in mind for the future, even while it is true that the enthusiasm that players showed during our Double Lightbringer and Sunspear Points Weekend exceeded our expectations. It seems that players will be reaping the benefits of this exuberance for weeks to come.

actually, it is 32767.
at least, in the language I use, because it allows 0 as well.(vb)

Why would they bother wasting space on the .3941? I'd just use an integer or long instead.
