i played prophecies a bunch back in the day and i've come back for eye of the north, but there are tons of new skills only available to factions and nightfall. are the campaigns worth getting for them? my main is a monk and i was recently kicked from a group for not having a nightfall specific spell... like i couldnt heal normally lol. how do the pve experiences compare? (if im in a competitive pvp mood, i play counter strike

pve in Factions is, in my opinion, bad. Nightfall isn't too much better imo. Factions story isn't too well written. If I were to rate the Stories of the campaigns, Prophecies > Nightfall > Factions.

If you're only looking for skills, NF would be the one to get imo, as for monks there isn't too much offered in Factions (as far as I can remember).

as far as pve experiences go factions is pretty good and nightfall is pretty bad. I deleted my monk a long time ago because I just really couldn't get into it so I don't know much about the skills.

Skills wise Nightfall has some pretty useful skills, but so does Factions. Nightfall has Flail though!<3 If you had to choose I'd say go NF.

Honestly....I would have to say yes, it is worth it to get both. Understand however that I rarely ever play in Factions and still haven't finished it. I have however capped a few of the elites...most notably Flesh Golem. I didn't really enjoy too many of the Factions missions and I think that Nightfall has done better in so far as the story (though Prophecies was better) and with NF you do get the PvE only Sunspear line of skills...through the hero skill trainer.

I do believe that Heroes were the best addition to the game even if it did make some areas incredibly easy when using properly.

Agree with Necrotic - get NF! The heroes and skills (normal, elite and sunspear) are really worth it!
