I dont like the idea of having to pay for it. $10 seems a bit steep.
They should have just had another promotion where you get for free, for spending a certain amount.
Oh well. At least my guildmates who didnt get it can get it now. That makes me happy.

Check the context. Likely the players involved were being more than a little hostile too. Gaile seemed to miss the mark about retail sales - wasn't as bad as all that after all! - although she didn't seem to dismiss the prospect, but rather seemed doubtful it was realistic.
Oh and thanks for that Alex, you made the thread cool again.

To those of us who were not her during that time, the BMP feels to us like the divine aura would to you..now maybe you understand why all the fuss about it.

I'm glad it's for sale now. Anet occasionally shows good business sense. I hope the cash inflow is used to hire good voice actors for GW2.

Guild Wars had some of the best voice actors in the business (Factions not withstanding).
Steven Blum (Cowboy Bebop - Spike Spiegel)
Maurice Lamarche (Pinky and the Brain - The Brain)
Paul Eiding (Metal Gear Solid - Colonel Campbell)

Good on Anet.
I have the BMP because I bought GWEN; it's no skin off my back if other people get to pay extra to get what I got for free. I think the BMP missions are quite fun, and I'm happy more people will get to enjoy them.

Might as well add my two cents in. I think that this is unfair because it was a "limited time offer". Also, we had to pay $30 to get it (yes, some bought EotN however some also bought 3 char slots) where now we would only have to pay $10. This is extremely unfair. ANet: make it the same price we had to pay or don't make it at all.

Well, referring to that post, apparently our "thankyou" was a kick in the face for being suckers and using the online store.
I'm not elitist at all, I'd be more than happy to let everyone have the BMP, but through another promotion, not just a sale for the price of a character slot. Living in Australia and being charged in Pounds the exchange rate brought the price of GWEN to nearly three times the price of the same in retail stores. But I happily took advantage of the "promotion" and paid the extra money to show my support of Anet. Turns out I could have saved myself the trouble, and the cash, since obviously our support means minimal in the long run.
To be completely honest, this whole BMP thing has been so poorly run. Everyone deserved a chance to get the BMP, and before it was offered there should have been some sort of PayPal implementation, or some alternative form of payment. Hundreds of companies have managed to set up online stores with perfect functionality, and for whizz team of designers, coders and programmers I don't for a second believe that they aren't able to do it (given that they have NCSoft's resources at their disposal.)
This isn't a damned if you do - damned if you don't scenario. The differing feelings of both sides of this argument come purely from the travesty that was the marketing, promotion, PR and Customer Relations to do with this promotion.
I only hope that Anet can learn from this and continue the wonderful customer service they showed when I first started playing this game close to three years ago. You have created a wonderful game, and I'd hate to see a community tear itself apart because of some bad marketing and PR.

And you got your three character slots. The BMP was nothing but a freebie.

why are you people so worked up about the bmp ? oO
why are you so worked up about a GAME ? oO
why are you so worked up about 10/30$ ? Did u sell a part of the body/ the dog/ your house/ didnt eat in 3days to get em ? )
why are you felling scamed ? do you feel like this every time you go to a shop buy smth and the next day there is a special offer and ppl can get it at half the price ?
did anyone force you to buy 30$ worth of stuff from shop to get the bmp ? it was smth that they decided to give ppl for free who buy from online store. If you forced yourself to buy things you do not need in order to receive smth free i think its pretty sad imo. it was pretty obvious you wouldnt gain any ingame wealth from the bmp while only a number could have it at the moment. thus is was pretty optional(it was not like you would die/ get banned if you didnt buy stuff).
ill prob get flammed for saying that 30$ isnt much but as long as you can affort a pc, internet, original games, and extra features i dont think you depended on that money . and if you do wth are you doing playing games ?oO.
not pro/against bmp its just a feature added to the game. a feature that is optional which does no harm.

I dont mind GW offering this ONE TIME ONLY BONUS MISSION PACK PROMOTION for sale. I'm glad players get a chance to prurchase it.
I bought GWEN in the onlinestore and got the BMP.
I do however have a stygean reaver to grind with Anet:
This is my point: i want them to send me the EOTN box with full content!
That should even it out just fine.
And for those that bought 15 charcter slots; refund them all!

Players who are interested in acquiring the free Guild Wars Bonus Mission Pack must complete their qualifying purchase(s) through the Guild Wars In-Game Store or the PlayNC Store by 11:59 PM Pacific (-7 GMT) tomorrow, October 31st. If you spend at least $29 (€26/£17) in the store during the promotion period, you'll get access to the pack when it is released in November. The Bonus Mission Pack contains missions that involve four pivotal moments in Guild Wars history.

This was in October 30 October 2007.
Can some one please show me where does it state that it's "unique", "never sold" or "we are forcing you to waste your money, because we use mind control devices in our promotion add's".
Won't bother saying much more, again thanks to Anet for releasing the BMP, and give a chance to all to experience it.

It's all about making money. There're no more chapter coming out, Anet need as much income as they can to fund their GW2 project, pay the bills, buy a new car etc. Who are you to stand in their way?
If they put that on the shop, people will buy. I'm not even bother about this one bit. If you still really upset by this, I'll offer you a hug.

Sure, see where it says something to the likes of "to qualify for the BMP you MUST (note the MUST) complete your online store transaction before etc."? It's right there. Ty.

To qualify for the promition yes. You're reading nothing but the small print to stop people from suing, etc, for not fully understanding the situation.
They never said they content would never be re-released/distributed or anything like that.

It seems that most who didn't qualify for the original BMP are the ones saying "quit whining" and those who did are the ones "whining" ...interesting...but for me it's not about some elitest area that I have access to or the weapons that I can get just to give to my heroes. I'm standing over there with Elisa and several others.... because I too feel deceived and taken advantage of simply because I generally feel that this is a good game to play, though the "adjustments" to SR and loot scaling made me question it, I could still find ways to enjoy the game....even if not quite the same way I used to.
It's not about the availability of the Mission Pack....it's about the honesty behind it's promotion. OKay...maybe they weren't sure themselves if it would be offered for sale, in which case they could have promoted it as early access....not "Available ONLY!!"
Edit: Winter....just scroll back a page or two and see the quote of Gaile on the subject....okay maybe she didn't mean it...but it sure sounded like it wasn't ever going to be available again.

In reply for Tom Swift:
- Thanks for reading the post, and thanks for understanding my point. Even if you said that you still was not agreeing with me after reading, I would accept this because you at least try to watch from others perspective, thank you again
In reply for Pamelf:
- You got one exact point that made me upset. Gaile was clear for me enough in her post that the BMP was a THANK YOU for the support we give to the game, and the way the post was wrote made me and lot of people belive that this was a promotion just like a Collector's Edition, a promotion that have only one way to get. And BTW, I totally agree with you, I wouldn't post this if they at least repeat the EXACT SAME PROMOTION again, you buy a certain value, you get BMP.
The BMP was first released in november, and now again in the end of January, and if I knew that it would happen, I could have bought the GW:EN box, and waited 2 months, to then buy the BMP.
And just to finish, again I write, I REALLY FEEL HAPPY for you people that will get the BMP. My main is a Mesmer, and i say this because as a Mesmer, I don't like elitism in the game, never liked, and never will, and I really like when everyone get the EQUAL chance to have the same thing.
But this BMP sale is not equal in any means, people like me who bought the GW:EN from online store, and just like me wished for the box, will have now to buy another GW:EN if they want the box, and will have an extra CD-key, but players that bought the box, will have a more privileged way to have the same things we have, and will be able to buy it in stores, wich means more ways to buy that our "promotion" had.
Honestly, IMO buying the box, have a 2 month pause to get some more money and then buy the BMP feels to me way more promotional that getting the BMP for free and not have the box.
I am really sad with all this

I'm not unhappy about this being up for sale once again, what has me a little perplexed is why were the weapons customized?
I mean its now no different than haveing weapons from GWEN being customized upon dropping or the Tormented weapons.
Since anyone can buy the BMP to get the weapons, why shouldn't those that aquired it early have had a chance to sell or trade those items contained within it?
Ok maybe you could argue this is similar to a preview of a new chapter, where they locked the skills/items you aquired untill the official release date. Does that mean that all the customized items we now have will lose their customization and become tradable?
