Though i've always loved GW's new style, i've been curious how well and original Arena.Net could make a fully explorable MMO.
I'll be getting it with whatever collectors edition they release.
I cant wait for some REAL media updates.

Pretty much, but it doesn't hurt to point out exactly why they're losing my business. I'm not one of these people that thinks they screwed up GW, far from it. I've quite enjoyed GW, my problem is that, in a broad variety of ways, GW2 has abandoned the things that made GW unique and enjoyable for me.

Me too, but change is good... GW1 DIDN'T WORK AS INTENDED, simple fact, so they are moving on instead of not giving the players what they want

Which is fine, but I got exactly what I wanted out of GW1, so GW2's clearly not being made for me. It's being made for people that wish this game was an MMORPG, and I don't play MMORPG's. GW's given me a ton of great gameplay, I wish Anet nothing but the best, but I'm not going to buy an MMORPG just because they put the words "Guild Wars" on the box.

No, I won't be buying it.
I've enjoyed GW and all the chapters but I'm really not liking the direction the business ethic is moving in.

50/50.
First of all, I don't even know if my computer will be able to run it. It is two years away. I might be too busy for the game to play.

Vinraith, tell you what....if ArenaNet offers a limited trial of GW2, please try it, I'll personally escort your character around and keep all the potential griefers and loot-stealers away from you.
As of right now based on what I've read and what I've seen of ArenaNet's history I'll probably get it. But it could change if for some unforeseen reason.
I'm a satisfied customer, I don't see any reason to doubt their next product will share the same quality and care as previous games.

Not sure, I havn't really looked much into GW2 yet. I read the lore thingo when it came out ages ago, did not really like it, but then to me, lore has never been GW's strong point.
Prophecies was and is my favourtie campaign, and, in my personal opinions, Guildwars has gone downhill since then, to one degree or another. I still do play heaps, so I still do enjoy it, and there have been several significant improvement since the start, reconnects, hard mode, most of the titles etc.
So, yeah, depends.

But GW IS AN MMORPG. Yes I know ANET says its Cmorpg, but it meets all the requirments of an MMORPG so therefore it IS one, regardless of if you like them or not
What is it that you don't like about what you called MMO's ?
Unless they have turned GW2 in a wow clone I will for sure pre-order the collectors version.

How do you define "MMORPG"?
Massive = yes, crapload of players
Multiplayer = potentially, see above
Online = yes
Role-Playing = here it gets hazy. Yes there are certain roles within the party, but character customization is nill beyond basic physical appearance.
Compare to The Elder Scrolls and even WoW, and as an "rpg," Guild Wars is seriously lacking.
I have no problem with that, because I have fun with it as-is.

Right, but GW1never actually managed to fulfillthe devs dreams forthe game andwhat they wanted... nor did they anticiate the peopleactually staying to play the game as a full time thing, instead of a casualgame
that is why they are changing

I don't get this "it's not an RPG" position:
you have attribute points
you pick your profession
you pick your equipment
you pick your appearance
you pick your skills
you level up
you fight monsters
there are quests
there's magic, melee combat, ranged combat, fantasy elements
what isn't there?

Absolutely yes!!!
I may not agree with everything ANET has done, but I am an extremely satisfied customer
- They have a kick ass game that has given me my money's worth x a million.
- I've had fun for 2 yrs and 8 months.
- I've met amazing people and made good friends.
- and many many more reasons...
so absolutely YES!!
