I don't think GW itself ends relationships. It ends because partner 1 doesn't support that parter 2 likes games, or partner 1 plays games all day, ignores partner 2 completely. It's generally a mix of the two.

Either way, it's the people involves, not the damn game. Arguements like this always sound too much like the people who cry that video games are too violent or slutty. No, in that case, you need to parent your own damn kids and quit being lazy.

I have several married guildies. One, barely has a relationship with their spouse, but that is mainly due to differing interests. Another, couple both play, but one only plays on occasion on the other's mule. Yet another, share an account. One person has a completely supportive mate.

Me, I have a gamer boyfriend.

The only time GW causes me and the wife to have words is during 600 / smite runs, when she as the smiter draws all the aggro off me, then there is a flurry of expletives ending with the word 'nub'. Other than that everything is rosy

My boyfriend doesn't play Guild Wars, but we play the 360 together. Namely, Call of Duty 4 (I'm so addicted). We've been together for 5 years, and almost 2 of which I've been playing GW. We know how important it is to have time apart and do your own thing. He'll go play the 360 and I'll hop on GW for a while. Also, the fact that we don't have much time for doing anything together but homework while school is in session, our breaks usually consist of video games.

I'm not the type of person to want to go party or clubbing every weekend, and neither is he. I'm definitely a homebody and would rather have friends over for some Rockband than go get shitfaced downtown.

While GW doesn't end relationships, it can highlight problems and when its time to move on. My 4 year relationship ended a few months ago and while we both play GW, it was not the reason we split. Had it not been possible to compare myself to the relationships my RL and IG friends have with their partners, I don't think I would have moved on, and would still be suffering sleepless nights and other such nasties.

I am aware of at least one couple that have met online (in GW I seem to remember) and are now living together - she moved to Australia from the UK to be with him. I'm at the start of my own online romance now - and am many many times happier than I was before thanks in part to the words and actions of my new boyfriend.

Haven't had Guild Wars end a relationship but I've ended up with a stalker from it. Along with Cats we make films called Clover and the Skull and I am Lord Green Clover. Well sometime last year I started getting getting random pm's ingame saying "omg its Clover!" At first it was rather nice to have a fan but it soon changed to the weird side. Last I knew she was blocked on both my e-mail addresses, msn and ingame. So nope not had a relationship end cause of Guild Wars but had a strange one start

Well my husband and I met online back in the days of the old alt.binaries, were friends for a number of years, eventually got together and have been married for 4 1/2 years now. We have many similar interests gaming being just one of them. He got me into GW and we frequently play this and other games together.
