I bought the bmp today and at first I thought it was really lame after doing doing Saul's story with the overpowered skill bar. Next I decided to do Gwen's story for a charr staff after researching the weapon skins on wiki. Not long into the mission I ran into what I see as a major error. The error is listed on wiki ->http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/The_Flight_North This bug makes it so a door stays closed and you cannot proceed with the mission.
The only draw to the bmp I can see is to acquire the weapons that the gw team has been marketing for some time now. I am a bit reluctant to try the mission for a third time now and I'm concidering finding out how to get my $9.99 back and having my bmp removed from my accont. I was excited at first about getting some fresh weapon skins but after I did Saul's story and turned it in for a shield for my para but found out it was customized automatically on my monk and with the Gwen's story bug it gets 2 thumbs down from me. I think I'm gonna grab a shower and go out with some friends now. It's not like gw objectives don't take enough time out of my life just to do them once but geeez man I'm sure as hell not going to repeat them for no gain.
I was thinking of deleting this post but I was wrong in making this thread and I guess I need to to suffer the consequences of looking like an ass.....ffs

You can do the missions over and over again for an unlimited amount of weapons. Also these missions only take like 15-20mins so I can't see why you think they take so long.

Umm, I'd suggest you don't play the game if it's more like a task than an enjoyment, which is basically what you inferred there in the above statment. I mean, it's not like anybody is holding a gun to your head to play. You're not paying monthly. You're under no obligation.

I think you're just trying to rouse the hornets nest on this subject.

So far the gwen story has bugged twice on me and I'm not sure how many times it's going to happen again. I don't feel like wasting my time on someone's programming failure. I don't get paid for failure at my job so I'm have issues dealing with paying cash money for unresolved failure which I'm expecting to be fun in my leisure time.

Umm I'd suggest you gain something called reasoning on something that becomes a task thats suppoed to be enjoyment due to someones failure that I've paid for. I'm not paying monthly but that way the hell off target and I have paid for it. What the hell are you even talking about not paying monthly? That nothing to do with anything.

I said that because you stated that "It's not like gw objectives don't take enough time out of my life...", sounding like you're being forced to play, or feel obligated.

The bug is unfortunate, yes...but you come across as a person that doesn't enjoy any of the game with statements like that. And really, bitching about the fact the weapons are customized for the character that went through is a little silly, as you could have found that information out anywhere beforehand. I'd suggest you read up more on things before buying them and blaming somebody else for your supposed loss. Bygones...

I guess I do feel obligated to do some things that take a long time to get a certain item that I want. Am I not obligated to do these tasks if I want what I want? I don't want to read up on things because I like to figure things out for myself and use wiki as a last resort when I can't. The point of the thread was my paying cash money for failure.

The bug can't be all that huge as I and my guildies have never run into it a single time. I'd say bad luck? I'm sorry it happened to you twice but it's hardly something to lose sleep over, couldn't have "wasted" more than a few minutes. GW ALWAYS has bugs, every game does. As for the weapons being customized, we've known that from the beginning. Not an issue, just do the mission with the char you want the weapon for. All the info on the bmp has been out for awhile now, you knew what you were buying. You aren't gonna get a refund.

Online game bug makes player break down crying. News at eleven, rights to movie sold to major picture company.

- No storyline missions in GW are repeatable for gain. You get reward first time only.
- There are bugs in GW. Most of them are known. Same is true for every other online game

No, they haven't.

BMP was free promotional item for those who purchased GW:EN online. But after the game launched, people realized there are some cool weapons to be had, and lots of crying ensued.

If weapons are the only draw, then get them. All it takes is a mission to complete. These weapons are part of BMP storyline, they were not given to you with purchase of BMP.

Ok I figured it out. First off, I didn't have to restart the mission. I just had to run back to the objective starting point to restart the objective instance. The bug is that the charr ghosts seperate on their own making shared burden not work on the entire group which is remedied by body blocking the lead charr ghosts and then casting shared burden.
I think illusion of haste needs to be updated so that when the enchantment is is effect, player cannot be crippled.

So what you're saying is that it wasn't the bug listed on the Wiki, or indeed any bug at all (that's not a bug, no matter what you say). It was simply due to your inability to hit a group of enemies with an AOE spell.

There's nothing wrong with that. Catching all the Charr can be tricky.

There is, however, something wrong with coming online and bitching about how inept Anet is, and demanding your money back, when it was your ineptitude causing the problem.

And yes, by now everyone knows BMP weapons are customized to the person who turns in the book. You can, however, get a weapon for a different character (without just doing the mission with that character) by unlocking the mission's hidden secrets.

Meh..works fine for me. If you bought the BMP expecting it to be flawless it was your own stupid fault for not thinking. As for a refund? No chance.

You're losing all of 3 minutes each attempt? Just try until you figure out WHY you're making the bug occur. I've never had that bug by following the mission exactly how it was meant to play out.

I've never had that bug occur, and I've outfitted every single one of my heroes (and I have all of em) in bmp weps. I've done every mission multiple times, and done all the discoveries. So the bug can't be that prevalent. If you've had it happen 3 times in a row... something is wrong with how you're doing it.
