I support taking warning labels from everything and letting the problem solve itself.
Turning in books for a maxed title makes lots of sense. You gain XP (skill points) and money. And since titles are very easily maxed, books still serve some purpose.
This goes right up there with "mindless" grind. Heaven's forbid one pays attention to what's on screen as long as they hear the ding. Mindless clicking left and right. The book used in this way becomes completely worthless, just turn it in asap to push the bars higher.
Everyone wanted progression and grind. This is it. This is how in progression based games you can waste hours, days, weeks or even months. Consider how in GW2 it'll be possible to roll a gimp. A class that will never be useful, never wanted, and that will never be able to be part of any group, never do high end instances. Because of emphasis on mindless grind.
Just get another book, only takes a few hours. At least you're a few k richer.

/signed for a warning
I almost did the same thing, except I noticed before it was too late and went to the right guy. It's a very easy mistake to make, though. Anyone not signing this deserves to trip on a dwarf and have an unfortunate encounter with his axe.

/signed for a warning. I didn't realize you could turn a book into them again, once you max it they don't give you anymore books...

Though I agree, a fix like this isn't any more outlandish than the current system they have that prevents you from getting books that you aren't eligible for in the first place. The reverse makes perfect sense.

But yeah, /signed. I can't really blame Anet for missing something like this, though. But I can blame them if they don't fix it! :P

It was a complete HM quest book.
I just wasn't thinking. It's the Norn capitol, so I didn't expect the Dwarven Guy to be there at all. My fault, that said, a warning would have been real nice.

I wasn't aware that they would even accept books after maxing a title. I can't think of any negative impact for adding a warning.

Though it's a small oversight on the part of the player, it would be nice to cater to occasional moments of noobness that erase the effort of several hours of non-noobness.

1. You need to talk to an npc to do it, so it's your fault if you make a mistake; it's not exactly a fast thing.
2. No reason to remove the opportunity for people who have maxed all of these titles from getting the gold and xp.

I don't see why they can't add a warning box when you consider all the idiot proofing that's gone into the trade system.

It makes sense, and this is a principle that should be generalised in all GW.
