Vanquishing and it's rewards
I hesitated to post this, because I just know it's going to degenerate into QQing about loot and gold etc etc, but I will do so anyway and hope vainly that it won't. I post this because I feel that the sense of "reward" for vanquishing in HM is not balanced to the effort put in.
I have obviously been vanquishing this weekend, but I am busy on the titles so have been concertedly at it now for the last while, in between other title hunting. The sense of reward this weekend, at the end when you see the amount of gold you get for completely clearing an area, in Hard Mode, just feels a lot better than it normally is. It feels a reasonable reward for the time it takes. The normal reward makes it not worth the effort to clear a complete area for "fun" and makes it feel like just a chore.
This is my perception and I just felt that this is what the rewards should actually be. Permanently.

I agree. When I heard about this weekend, I wondered if they would do it like they did the "double" faction they did in the pvp areas. In short, they did a double faction (when faction was only lik 25 per kill) doubled it for the weekend, and decided to keep it that way.
Hopefully, this will follow suit.

I think that Hard Mode's lack of reward is more directly related to its lack of decent drops. You get better stuff, yes, but not much better.
And Hard Mode isn't, usually, that hard, in reality. It just takes a lot longer.
Most people have found that later areas aren't typically much harder than their normal counterparts, and earlier areas are only harder because of the decreased team size. In the end, if you were to increase the rewards appropriately, you'd just have patient and/or lifeless people farming the crap out of the higher level areas for the loot since they're not much more difficult than normal.
I think Vanquishing needs to stay what it is: something for people who like vanquishing to do solely because they enjoy it.

But this is my point - no-one does it except for the title. If the sense of reward was like it is now on this special weekend, don't you think it would make it a more attractive activity to do just for the hell of it?
PS The standard of the loot dropped by the foes is all part of another discussion that encompasses the whole game and not what I want to discuss here.

It is correct that the "standard" gold reward for vanquishing a zone is worthless, and not at all worth the time it takes to vanquish the zone. This weekend's "double gold rate" should be the standard gold rate for vanquishing a zone during normal (non-event) times. Also, Legendary Vanquisher should get an emote or everlasting beetle tonic or something worthwhile like that.

Bah I vanquished Zehlon reach today and not only did I not get a single gold drop after killing about 240 enemies I only ended up with 4400k and it took 2 hrs to do it.
Major waste of time.

Agreed. It is just the mudaneness of it that makes it annoying. You always spend like ~15 miniutes looking for that one monster you missed. It can take a while to develop a good build for certain areas. And unless you are Ursaning, it is IMPOSSIBLE to find a group to do it because there is no way to centralize the people who do it.

I spent an hour and a half vanquishing a place in GW:EN and got 6k from it :|
Not really that profitable.

I agree the reward this weekend seems about right for the time it takes. Though I usually get a ton of golds and purples when I clear an area. While they may not be anything I can sell to players 150-400g is alot better at the merchant than the normal 40-80g. Not to mention I usually get several colored armors usually 1 or 2 containing runes or insignias that are 400g-1k.

I say permanently keep the Vanquishing rewards at what they are right now during the double weekend. It's actually profitable to vanquish places right now, instead of taking 4 hours to vanq someplace like Arbor Bay, and only getting 2.5k in reward to show for it. You get more reward out of taking 4 hours to do DoA or The Deep, and the overall difficulty level of them all is about the same.

Its a bonus why should you ask for more? You dont get any extra benefit from the protector titles or any of them so why should you for this? Bring keys along you can get drops from chests and monsters believe it or not DROP WEAPONS TOO! Hell you people wouldnt even be bitching about thsi right now if they didnt even give you a reward at all. The added bonus they already have is nice enough you dont need anymore.

I feel there is no reason to vanquish an area other than the glory of the title. If you want gold go earn some and stop vanqueshing because people don't vanquish for gold. There should be no gold given at all for vanquishing an area other than drops from the monsters.

My best vanquish was 15k, 2 tomes, 1 lockpick 10 gold items and a lot of XP.
But there where 500 enemies a lot of time!
The rest where much less than that. 1..5k.

Yeah i feel same its Nice when you spent 30mins-3hours vanguishing some area and when you get the reward it feels nice that i got that money with hard work! even if its only like 1-3k
