ZOMG! A skill based game that requires skill in a mini game within that game. GASSSSSSSSSSP! The sky is falling, the end is neigh!
The idea is to use the powerups you get by CHANCE effectively, not camp the boxes until you get the uber ultra super cool skill of d00m +7000 to e-peen.... Maybe it is time to use something other then Ursan?

Now people that aren't very good can beat the best racers just because they got lucky and got a super, while the better player didn't.
Also, although this doens't apply to most people, I will not have any defense against people that kd me jsut because of my high scores. Before I was usually able to still win, but now it will be nearly impossible.

Sorry, couldn't resist... ok, you seriously make no sense. Soo before, you could win because you "knew how to use them" i.e., had skill to make the best of your luck. Now, people will be able to beat you because you don't know how to use the skills? Did you forget or something?
Sure I would've loved to get that Greased Lightning minipet, but no one should ever take rollerbeetle racing seriously. The GW1 engine simply wasn't designed for it and doesn't handle it well. Still, minigames are for fun, so if you aren't having fun, please do something else. kthxbye

A skilled player didn't need to box camp to win. Now it's showing the clueless out to light.

Your loss. It's actually great fun. Just like events are supposed to be.
Yeah, I too think this game is in the bowl and getting ready to flush, but not due to minigames.

The op is seriously whining that they fixed a mechanic that allowed a few unbalanced and selfish people to ruin the fun of a vastly larger group of people just looking to enjoy the race?
Yowza...
Rollerbeetle ftw! Box camping ftl! I just wish they could be mass culled in a code 45 ban instead, but that would probably be a lot of work. Those sorts of people will just find other ways to ruin things for everyone else, eventually, anyway.

If anything is imbalanced here, it's the Winged Purple Shell. It doesn't target anyone but the player in first place, and there's no way to avoid it at all! Nintendo clearly doesn't care about keeping it fair for the players who obviously already know what they're doing and would win by miles without any way of stopping them. And don't get me started on how unfair it is that the player in 8th has a massively larger percent chance of getting the Lightning Bolt than anyone else. Lame! If I'm in first, I'm clearly much better at the game than the person in 8th, so why should he get the coolest power up?

I actually like these changes. Maybe my time will be able to make top 100 again and stay there...last time every person and their alt accounts spammed the crap out of id sync and box camp to get multiple top 100 times >.<

I'm going to miss this event because of my poor graphics card. WHY meeeeeee. Oh well if Chinese New Year is this good then other event should be fantastic. Also do they have an Easter event? I'll be back by Easter for sure.
