D'oh! During the last year I've been handing out pigs as free gifts to random nice people that I met in game, in fact one went just yesterday before I saw this. Another great way for ANet to reward generosity over selfish greed, I see. I certainly hope that the collector is having dreams of three little piggies since that's all I have left at this point

I had 7 last year and gave all but 1 to friends and guildies who missed out on the event.

I refuse to feel sorry about doing this.

I couldn't care less about minipets and people playing this game only for the hard-on they get whilst gazing upon their hoarded treasures.

Well, it does that a new "item" will be given away at the finale, and seeing as they've already stated there will be a celestial rat I'd think it would follow that the new "item" isn't the rat, otherwise they'd just say so surely?

I'd bet on a new hat myself, but then I've been wrong before.

Single best hat though? Shurely Shome Mishtake... I NPC'd mine and binned it straight away. Dragon festival (2006) mask is FTW, accept no substitutes. Especially now they've fixed the inferior copied versions to have bouncy bits on instead of a flat texture.

I collected and gave away 8 mini pigs last year to people who could not attend the event
Family work hospital admittance whatever commitments.
To have anet do this stinks in my books I have NO regrets giving the pigs away even hearing about this
but anet really need to rethink this and fast before the event.

Guildwars rewarding greed? Or more.. rewarding those rich and greedy people..

I ended up with 2 pigs (which i got from 2 different people.. one was dedicated already and 1 unded) because i missed the festival.

I gave away the second one i got because nobody needs 2 pigs right? But now i see people collecting and paying the most outrageous prices for pigs because of this so called collector that will apear..

I sometimes wonder if Anet do these things on purpose just to laugh at the community. All those that gave Pigs away in the past year will probably never give again thanks to this. Well done.

I think we should all take time out of our busy schedules to thank all the jackasses that whined that mini-pigs were "too common".

Thanks to them, not only are generous folks getting a hearty slap in the face, but a lot of people who can't play 24 hours a day, this weekend, won't be getting a mini-rat.

You gvae piggies away while you thought they were worthless, and otehrs kept them because they had space. Ive given a few away for free to and from guildies in the past... so what? Im happy that I could give a friend a smile. What they do after I was generous in the past, and no one knew about this is not my problem...

I was generous in the past with small things, and will be in the future still. Stop being greedy yoruself. Any and all money I made ingame was through legit trades and gameplay at the current trade prices (counting out scamming scammers every now and then for trying the old switch trick

), and this will carry on being so in the future. Im joining in the piggymania to make more cash this way by posting my WTB prices, and sticking to them +- a little, and selling (or keeping) at an average price currently in the area im in, not overpriced, but also not undermarket.

Its much like real life trading. Buy low, be oppertunistic and sell high to make a profit. No single stock trader will willingly sell undermarket or for old prices if something like this happens.

I think this thread is less of you crying about others being opertunists, than you loosing out because of a good deed?.... SO WHAT!!! Be happy that you did it in the past, and stop complaining.

I used to buy these up in bulks, walk outside and put them on the ground and walk back into town.

The value of the pig hasn't changed my mind about how much I dislike them =P

i actually thought we;d get 2 mini pets this way:
1 from rollerbeetle ...a new one
1 from the new lunar tickets...but later at event.

i assume the last part of that where it says if you have tokens, its probably the same way you got pig originally
