Leave the ursan argument for another thread. This thread is about the price of armbraces and how ursan/other things are effecting it, not why ursan should (not) be nerfed.

You're in a game that has reached a certain maturity. More and more people are capable of doing DoA, largely due to Ursan's Blessing, but even if there wasn't, the number of people able to do it with Heroes and with the holy trinity will have increased.
From the trend that seems to be going on, Anet is not going to be making any content harder than DoA, and hence, nothing will be more valuable or take as much time. The Armbrace is the top end of the economy, and its deflating.
My reason for why it is deflating, is because GW has no upkeep costs, so everyone ends up being more than able to horde gold. So what if it was 100k 50ectos, there's still a fair chunk of people able to afford that now. Much more than it was when DoA was new.
Lets face it. It's arguably the "most special" but it is no longer very special.

I buy stuff because I like it, not because I want to look rich. Hence why I've sold both armbraces I've farmed in DoA.
If they nerf Ursan, that means I'll go back to 3-man DoA, which IMHO was less boring for me... no complains there. And if THAT doesn't work, I'll just find a new way to get quick cash. Always did so.

So wrong, and I am really not surprised considering the source. Has the thought ever crossed your mind that some people get those things for the aesthetic and not some twisted form of pride? Playing dress up in a video game does not equate seeking one's self worth in a video game, which you guys are doing. I get a particular set of armor/weapons for one of my in game characters depending on how pleasing the artwork is to my eyes. You do it to be envied by others, and that's pretty pretty sad.

That's pretty awesome. Number 10 in 300? Color me impressed. Two sports? Nice. I am surprised that someone with so many real achievements can't see how whining about virtual achievement is silly. Takes all kinds I guess.

It just gets me annoyed when something I worked at to buy for 100k+50 ecto is now worth 100k+ 15 ecto. Imagine buying a car for 50 grand and the next day your friend tells you he just bought it for 20 grand. You'd be pretty PO'd. I'm not whining I'm simpley expressing my frustration.

Trob, I study Psychology. Do you want to get into a debate about the human drive for false achievement/playing video games for self worth, or do we want to get back on topic?
And no, it's not irony I suppose. It's more like a blend of stupidity, Sitcom Irony, and random humor.

Everything that can be repeatedly farmed will eventually come down in price.
You pay more for having it before others. If you can wait, you can save a lot of money - which is true in real life, too.
On the other hand, a lot of people like to be among the first. Whatever floats your dinghy.

I can farm a armbrace in 1 day, its sickening, 3 full runs, each run 1.5-2.5 hours depending on how coordinated the group is. Use the spare cash from the runs to buy any missing gems after the third run. Each gem is like 2-4k. At this rate, by next week....armbraces will probably be as low as 100k+10e.

Does your skin react with sunlight?
Seriously though, do you really do three runs a day?

My first set of FoW armor cost me nearly 1.2 mil. My last, around 850k. People can probably get it for a tad bit cheaper now. And people before me probably bought it for even MORE. Why doesn't it bother me?
Because I don't buy to compete with the guy next to me. I don't care if he got his armbrace for 100k+15e while I bought one at 100k+50e before.
I have what I like, I'm satisfied with it.

Honest response here, as always. I am imagining the scenario you just described. Off the top of my head I can think of three things I'd attribute it to:
1. Bad timing on my part. I can't do anything about it, but next time I'll be a little more patient. This works great in real life because 20-50 grand is a lot of money for a lot of people, so they are more apt to be patient and finding deals. If this happened to me in the case of armbraces (which it actually has), I wouldn't (didn't) worry about it. Not everybody sells/buys for the same prices and prices themselves fluctuate over time. No big deal.
2. My haggling skills are suspect. Maybe my friend is a smooth talker and got the dealer to shave off 30 large. Can't hate on him for that. I just have to step my game up.
3. Simply could be a case of him getting his car at a different dealer who had different motivations for selling so much lower. Again, I can't hate on that. That's the way it is. I'd feel the same way if something happened like that in game. I can't expect one guy to sell me something for the same price that another person sold the exact item for. Nor can I get upset that the object I purchased is now cheaper.

I would love to. You take your pic.

The price of armbraces is not dependent on duping or how many there are in the game. They could still be duping them now it wouldnt change the price any.
The price is dependent on how much the gems it takes to exchange for an armbrace cost, currently a gemset is worth 17-20k.
If you want to blame anyone blame the DoA farmers.

I farm DoA, and TBH, I agree with you. It's how some people make their money fast - they farm what people want, and when the price goes down... something new pops up, people want them, they farm, price goes down... rinse and repeat. There's a demand, people supply it.

It is sad to see the prices of armbraces and tormented weapons collapse the way they did. Tormented weapons should be something ppl work hard to get, not something everyone and their dog get in under 1 week of trying. They need to either introduce new elite areas/skins or increase the number of gems required to make armbraces. 100+10-20e for an armbrase is just absurd.

They have been going down for awhile now but where is the breaking point. There has to be a point where it's just not worth it. How low do you think it can go? Should Anet intervene in the economy?

Armbraces are over-priced. If you just buy gems in DoA you will get them cheaper and faster than farming them.
Most people just don't want to spend time to farm/trade for it and still pay those crazy high prizes.
So i totally disagree with the OP. They are over-priced.

It is one of the few things in the game anymore that is worth a lot of cash (aside from very rare minis). As a result it gets over farmed. I haven't seen an armbrace advertised for sale for more than 100k + 25e in the last week so +15e is not surprising if someone wanted to sell a little quicker than competition.
Chances are it will drop further when the new DaWs enter the game as the market is almost saturated for tormented weapons by now and the only reason they have held their worth was there was nothing new or unusual since GWEN.

Maybe you paid more for your armbrace because you bought it in LA. They have to add in the import tax and shipping + handling to bring it overseas from Elona to Tyria.

Yeah, the first few full runs took about 8-9 hours, but later on it went down to a bit under 6 hours (if i didn't afk too much ).
We did it without ursan and i believe they also nerfed normal mode too when they introduced hard mode (making normal mode easier).
I don't exactely remember what the armbraces went for at that time since i whacked all my gems on coffers (over 100 coffers without getting a brace or a mini mallyx, that's why i am still "The Walmart Warrior" ), but i think it was 100k+50e?
So compared to the old days and the 100k+50e than and the 100k+20e now, yes, i believe they are way over-priced!
