There are 12 months in a year, not 16 I think you mean every 3 xD
I want the old prophecies one back, but I'd settle for Factions :P

They could change the login screen tomorrow for all we know. Nothing keeping Anet from doing that(aside from having to write code for GW2), only a few technical reasons keeping them from reverting to the old ones.
Btw, this is what, the fourth/fifth topic on login screens in the last few days? Wonders why the sudden interest.

The old prophecies one was pretty sweet. Always did like that one, would like to see it come back tbh...
But yes, as far as I have seen, for each new campaign the login screen changes. Ta da!

It's not that big of a deal in all honesty, but I really do miss the factions login screen, it felt really epic, had the classic music and wasn't too specific to any 1 campaign/region. That and my characters weren't sittin around freezin their arses off in that one.

If they made the log-in screen Hello Kitty themed with Blues Clues music, I think it would affect a whole lot more people than you'd think.

I think they should implement that for a weekend, like a weekend event!, and see how many people rage and QQ about it. Perhaps then everyone would be happy with the log in screen they have now.

It'd be cool if we could get to choose the login screen from the f11 options menu. It'd also be cool if we could choose music to go with it. But I guess that sort of thing belongs in it's own thread in the Sanitarium.
Personally, I'd choose the Campfire login with the music from Prince of Persia: Warrior Within main menu music. And if I could mod the login screen to move around a little like the menu background from PoP:WW, that'd be ideal as well. Just for laughs and coolness factor.

I have to say, out of all the login screens to be stuck with forever I would prefer GW:EN's. That being said however, I do get nostalgic for the Factions and Nightfall screens. And I want to see the Prophecies login screen in some way other than Googled pictures for once.

I wouldn't be suprised if there was one more expansion for GW1 along the lines of EotN...almost certainly connecting GW1 and GW2 (more so than EotN)
I understand that their main focus is on GW2, however, depening on how well the GW2 programming is going, they might throw us a bone. It's still an awfully long time until GW2 and they don't want to lose their player-base before the new game comes out.
This would explain their "nothing is planned" comments. They don't want to commit to an expansion, but I bet they have one in the back of their minds.

Most likely, if login screen changes, it will be when GW2 is released in order to advertise for it.

If I remember right, Gaile has stated at some point that login screens are not interchangeable due to their design being a reflection of "improvements" of some sort. Sure, Gaile is full of... air, hot air, nothing more but the things she says may indeed reflect the devs' feelings about login screens.
Which is a shame. I switch between characters for storage and gameplay purposes all the time, and the opening notes of both NF and GWEN tunes got old in about a week each. Fortunately, I still have the fan-made Factions login screensaver, which sates my need for soothing GW music and imagery

I . . . I can't remember the Factions login screen.
Or the post-campfire Prophecies login screen.
This is kind of disturbing!

Or if the music and imagery at the beginning of Ace Ventura was moody, gray and depressing?

The point of the Riverside forum is to discuss about game related topics. The topic here is game related, and the OP also asked a question. Seems like good discussion to me.

well then the OP can go to the Questions & Answers forum. notice the description:
Basic Guild Wars Questions
Ask your basic Guild Wars-related questions here.
his question seems pretty basic.... seems like the OP just wants a whole bunch of +1s to me.
notice all the new threads he has made on Riverside. sheesh.

Keyword bolded. This isn't a basic question. I also don't think he's encouraging answers as much as he wants people to talk about it.

If he wanted +1s, wouldn't it be easier to just post a lot of junk in other threads than to make you're own? And why doesn't he post in his own threads if all he wants to do is up his forum title?

I see where you are coming from but, it still would not make any difference to me. Because again it is such a short amount of time to see it. I spend a matter of 3 seconds on the login screen (except when it changes, I let it rotate once just to see the whole) then could care less about it afterwards.
As far as the movie goes even if the music and imagery at the beginning of Ace Ventura was moody, gray and depressing, the movie itself would have been the same with the same outcome. Like you said its only "the beginning", the "content" or "important" part would remain the same.
Oh well enough about this on to bigger and better things.
