-Racial bonuses for professions. Giving someone bonus energy or health or armor or something is fine, even giving them special abilities is fine, but don't make it so that a race is better at something than any other. Maybe I'm just a racist, but I wouldn't mind seeing all the races except Sylvari and Humans flayed alive and stuck on a long-assed line of pikes all throughout Tyria. I want to base my characters on what I want to, not what I have to because of racial benefits. This is not D&D or the Elder Scrolls, don't make it be.
-Non-instanced areas. Yeah, I know, you've already announced that there will be, but I still think it takes away from the game. You don't feel like a hero when there are 30 other people killing the same monster in front of you. I like to play solo, and I can't do that in shared areas. At least give us the option of playing in instances all the time. I understand some people enjoy playing with others like that, so good for them, but you should let those of us who liked the old way GW worked to play that way.
|
Amen. I want to make a Sylvari assassin! Or maybe a Norn Mesmer (Lol). Don't do a FFXI and say: this race = this profession. I don't want to have elitist discrimination for being the "wrong" race. And what you said about you don't feel like a hero... I couldn't put it better than that.

Wants:
Persistent area with the continuation of the Missions we have in Guild Wars. Maybe a few high level raid type instances as well. (like the elite areas we have now).
-Recreation: Kind of like crafting or fishing, but something that is not needed for you to complete the main story or anything like that but something to do when you want to take a break. Kind of like Dragon Arena.
-Heroes or Henchmen or something computerized to take with you when there aren't enough people or no one is doing the quest you are on.
-8 skills still.
-Same old professions as Guild Wars and new ones.
-Better player customization. Feature wise, armor wise, weapon wise, pretty much the whole 9 yards.
-Better armor customization. By this I mean slots, more in depth than runes.
-Repeatable quests like FoW and UW and DoA have.
-Enough quests to get to breaking point levels.
-High level cap that doesn't require years of grind to get. Hence the repeatable quests.
-Chests with locks and keys, maybe more indepth than they are now.
- Mounts of some sort, we have Junudu and Seige Devourers now, but yes I want you to go WoW and add mounts at a certain level or if not level after doing a certain type of quets/s. But I want these mounts to be a bit different and tied into GW lore. Maybe some type of futuristic Asuran mount.
-Fast travel NPCs and a big world to explore. That doesn't limit you like the current Guild Wars world.
-Wider selection of emotes, greater number of ignore spaces.
-Barber and or Make up Artist, Bazaar or some form of AH, maybe both and decent sized storage already included at game release.
-Jumping, flipping and whatever else there is, it adds cosmetic to the game when you have these things.
Don't Want:
Full instanced areas.
-Map travel like we have now, it will ruin a persistent world. Fast travel locations are good as well and require you to see the world to get to them, I think people should not be lazy. This is also where the mount thing would come in. And to go furthermore I do not think Anet will be copying anyone to use mounts, because mounts are a popular high speed way of getting around.
-Major title grind. Just lessen up on it a bit that's all.
That's about it.
I have nothing to say on PvP at this time really. Other than I think there should be a PvE team and a PvP team and PvE should be the body while PvP be the mind. Keep Guild Battles the same. I think World Battles should take the place of RA/TA and HA now and add something rewarding.

I disagree with this one. I can see your point, but to turn it around, consider the fun factor: I've watched WoW players having to wait for boats, play solitaire while their griffon, hippogriff, bat or wyvern takes them over terrain they've seen a million times before and just plain run through terrain, and I feel sorry for the poor bleeders. When you're spending your time running from point A to point B, you're not enjoying the game, you're just running from point A to point B.
And besides, there are some mobs in some areas I prefer not to have to fight and/or run past every time I want to get to a particular outpost.
Besides, Guild Wars 2 will have the Asura Gates to explain how you can get from City A to City B in the blink of an eye, rather than the is-this-actually-an-in-world-magical-device-or-just-a-game-feature weirdness of map travel in Guild Wars 1. Keep long travel times to subscription games which actually earn money from players sitting around waiting to be able to have fun.

When there are not other people to do your quest I would like to be able to walk outside and do it myself, no henchmen.

im not really decided on mounts or map travel may be the azura gates can be unlocked for use after a quest then you need to pay to use them
and the ppl that like the mounts can travel on them then every one can be happy

We're talking things that currently exist in GW1 (funny, when I started a thread like this the cats came out to play...)
Wants:
- Assigned drops
- Write and ping on a minimap
- No PKing
- Instanced areas
- Click to move
- Irrelevant level cap
- Titles (face it... they add focus)
- EotN style enemies (dual class, mixed skill bar) only better.
Don't wants:
- Bots
- Predictable spawns for enemies
Don't have and would like:
- Xunlai Marketplace (not auction house)
- Means to 'set up' auto-targeting to go through the sequence of your choice (Always, for example, target monks first, mesmers second, etc. )

Wants- Race-only Professions (But No Racial Bonuses) - I'm for having race-only professions (ex. humans are the only race that can use paragons), but racial bonuses are bad as they limit all characters with a specific profession to a specific race.
- Low-Level Stat Cap - Having a high level cap is fine for more obvious character development, but please have a low-level stat cap. I don't want lvl 100 people be super-uber-ultimate compared to a lvl 50. OR maybe instead of a linear growth of stats, you enable a logistic grow of stats so that once you are a certain level, there isn't much difference when you get 20 levels higher.
- Dungeons - Dungeons/Realms of the Gods are very cool additions and are what keeping me playing GW1. Keep them FoW/UW in AND ADD MORE (especially the Realms of the Gods)!
Don't Wants- PvE Skills - They sounded nice on paper, but turned out to be a messy divider of the GW community. Don't include them in GW2, k?
- PKing in PvE - I don't think this would ever happen in GW2, but just to say it, absolutely no player-killing in PvE.
- Easily Obtainable Max-Stat Items (AKA Greens) - Greens were just bad not because they were perfect, but because they were easily farmed. Greens should either be not included, or should only drop in a party of at least 4, but still have the same drop rate. Then they would be rare enough to be expensive like other max items.

This is a side discussion, but of all the professions, it's the Dervish that seems the most likely to be human-specific, or at least follows-the-same-gods-as-humans specific (which none of the announced GW2 races apart from humans themselves and possibly Sylvari seem to). It would, after all, seem a bit silly for someone who doesn't worship Melandru to suddenly start chanelling her power in the form of an avatar. (It's also worth noting that the Dervish is the only profession in GW1 that has no Charr adherents, although I believe Paragon is limited to secondaries.)

Ok, here's what I want to see:
-No more map traveling. It makes the world feel small, and it was just fun to run and take boats and do things like that in other games.
-Make some instances, but most of it persistant. Figure out a way to eliminate spawn camping in a persistant world.
-Make the world huge.
-Make towns and cities feel like towns and city, with buildings you can go in. Make more castles.
-Have at least 10 classes to choose from the start.
-Make armor more customizable in appearance. With not only dye, but being able to add guild emblems, and adesigns to it, so that that represents your guild along with your cape.
-Have tradeskills such as fishing and blacksmithing to do when you don't want to kell things or do missions.
-Player Housing. One instanced zone with a house customizable by a player to include extra storage, your own tradeskill equipment such as a forge and a brew barrel. Of course the player would have to buy it
-Real dungeons
-Have inns and taverns and casinos
I have tons more to add at some point.

i like the idea of the higher lvl cap a lot want the economy to be truely player driven ie remove all weapon and armour crafters out side the starter areas have it so players can learn those trades also remove customization of weapons and armours or at least give the option to reverse it
same with skills let players cap the skills and be able to sell them to other ppl and upgrade them through questing (just the player that caped the skill and did the work should be able to sell it tho)

Wants:
The limited skill bar similar to what we have now (8 skills, or no more than 10)
The great and varied landscapes and artwork in the game.
Heroes.
Choice of solo playing or team playing.
No PK.
Low level cap.
The ability to free roam the explorable areas and do missions in any order that was in prophecies.
Pets, minipets.
Guilds and alliances.
Don't want:
Barriers to entering mission areas like you have in factions and nightfall.
Customized armor.
PvP vs PvE division of community.
Character based titles, if they are there at all, make them account based.
Would like to see:
A decent way to sell things to other people.
Dwellings, perhaps in guild halls, perhaps elsewhere. Storage inside these buildings, as well as being able to charm more than one pet and leave it there.
Additional things to do in the game for fun.

Want:
- So few loading screens as possible.
- Really big explorable areas.
- Asura gates instead of map travel. I don't mean that there should be an asura gate in every corner but maybe in the larger cities and in some of the outposts/smaller villages.
- I'm not really sure if I want PKing in the PvE portion, but maybe if there is a rivality between some of the races it woudn't be such a bad idea. But I'm not sure... If Anet gets a nice style of the system of how it works I would probably like it.
I don't want to see you, like a high level character, going around and killing every lower level character than you in the area. That's not good.
Edit:
- Jeremy Soules music is a must!
Don't want:
- Meaningless outposts. Instead smaller villages in the explorable areas, with quest NPCs, merchant etc.
